Oak Glen Campsite
Loved this site! Me and eight of my friends went to Camp Lakota for the weekend and had a blast. The ranger Josh was super helpful! Nothing bad to say. We played with the goats and sheep, hiked Mt. Pinos and checked out Frazier Park. Great time.

Oak Glen is part of the whole Camp Lakota camping site (60 acres!). OG is ideal for group camping. There are platforms with roofs, but it still makes you feel like you're completely in nature. No tent is needed although Josh, the ranger & host, said that we were more than welcome to pitch a tent. One of the platforms had a pile of clean sleeping pads, which I used underneath my sleeping pad. We saw a few horseback riders on the main road (it's all dirt road by the way but any passenger car can drive through it). There were goats and sheep on the other side of the campsite, which they move around. We visited in September, which was already chilly but they do have a pool under renovation which would be pretty nice in the summer. There is a ropes course, archery, a sports field, stables (you can bring your horses). You'd just have to let the host ahead of time. I came to this campsite with one other person but I think it's best for larger groups! You're also about 15 minutes driving to Mt. Pinos. We explored a private trail nearby too. There's plenty to do here and right outside of this campsite. Lots of renovation going on too so if you're interested in learning more about what's available, check in with the host!

had a great night grilling, sitting beside the fire and counting the stars. josh is a great guy, super helpful. archery was super fun. perfect spot for large groups. thanks for the hospitality.

Spend some time amongst the conifers of the Los Padres National Forest at Camp Lakota. Operational year-round, this campground is a solid choice in any season. If you have a large group, or you’re planning a good ol’ fashion sleepaway camp experience, The Big House provides everything you’ll need.
The 58 acres of simple forested beauty has been home to the Girl Scouts through several generations. Aside from the old legend that the ghost of cookies-past haunt along the far North border of the land, this campground provides fresh air and nature for any age. The property is easy to navigate and open for exploration. And when you’re spending a winter night in The Big House, the central heating is a blessing.
The private trail is a one-mile hike that begins and ends on the Camp Lakota property, and the trail tracks through Pinon National Forest. This trail is great for a group of all ages, or a solo connection with nature. You’ll probably see rabbits and possibly a deer, but my favorite wildlife sighting out there is the echoing cry of an occasional hawk. When there's snow, animal tracks can be spotted along the hike. The elevation is consistent, the trail is marked, and afterwards you’re ready to enjoy a deserved s'more huddled by the fire.
The archery range is a lot of fun, and accommodates all skill-ranges. It's $150 for three hours for large groups, and there may be adjusted pricing for smaller parties. It's a great experience, and a lot of fun.
A stay here provides the capacity to decompress and enjoy. The park's camp ranger is a really nice guy! And he’s available for any inquiries.
