Small cabin with a fridge/freezer, cook stove and oven, propane heater, hot shower/clawfoot tub and a standard size futon mattress (currently occupied). Tent site is available. Please bring your own tent & bedding. Electricity is available, but no WiFi. The pit-toilet is shared with cabin tenants. There is also a delightful, private swimming hole on the property enjoyed seasonally. Close to ancient giant redwood grove and Redway Beach on the Eel River. Approximately 17 miles from Shelter Cove and 25 miles from the Sinkyone Wilderness Reserve. The King’s Peak is a great hike with awesome views of the Pacific and rugged Lost Coast. Close to Avenue of the Giants which offers an array of gorgeous loop trails from easy to moderate, through magnificent ancient redwood groves.

Nice southern exposure tent site above the Redwood Creek just 4 miles west of Redway. RV is fine if it's not over 30'. NO TRAILERS. Hiking in the redwoods nearby 2.5 miles and swimming in the creek is just a short walk down from the campsite. Swimming in the Eel River is 2.5 miles back towards town. 14 miles from the magnificent "Lost Coast" with amazing hiking and views. The World Famous "Avenue of the Giants" and Humboldt Redwoods State Park is just 14 miles north.

Electricity is available, but no WiFi. There are some limited cooking supplies and utensils. The pit-toilet is separate from the glamping unit. There is also a delightful swimming hole nearby which is enjoyed seasonally. Site is about 20 miles from Sinkyone Wilderness State Park and just 8 miles from the Humboldt Redwoods State Park which offers the world famous "Avenue of the Giants". Do not miss spending time under the redwood canopy. This site is located just 2 miles from the John B. Dewitt Redwoods Natural Reserve which is close to Redway Beach—a wonderful place to enjoy the south fork of the Eel River.

Hidden Gem Near the Big Trees 🌲

Loved tent camping on John’s land! He was a great host, super friendly and knew a lot about the area and its history. He gave us a few options of where to pitch our tent and showed us around the property. We camped in his fenced in fruit garden with a gorgeous view of the trees. We spent the evening soaking in the private clawfoot tub on the back patio of one his cabins (which also had a cool outdoor shower!). Very nice place to stay for an overnight on our way from LA to Oregon. A quick drive to the Avenue of the Giants the next morning and John gave us expert recs on where to stop. It was very quiet, felt safe and secluded, and I’d definitely return if I’m back in the area.
