Camp 🏕 Gold Dust Vineyard

Beautiful location, extremely quiet and peaceful, a perfect place to kick back in a hammock with a book. Easy to locate, can park right by the campsite, and the tent is quite comfortable. There are a lot of wineries tucked away here but make sure you do a wine tasting with Aaron -- he's making really great and interesting natural wines and ciders that take advantage of the unique location. There are some absolutely gorgeous rivers nearby so if you're visiting in the symmer, make time to take a dip in the Columnes. We really enjoyed our brief stay.

We loved our stay at Aaron and Amy’s vineyard. Not only was it beautiful, they make amazing natural wine! Aaron was great and super informative about their wine production. We felt very comfortable and safe at our tent site and also loved all the “extras” you can choose to add (e.g., coffee, charcuterie board, etc.)…it was all amazing. We loved our stay and would love to stay again in the future.

We had a very nice overnight stay. Great wines & cider, Aaron was super friendly & helpful. Sunset was beautiful. Bathrooms clean. I probably would not stay more than just a fun stop overnight while wine tasting.

Overall it was by far the least impressive winery camping here on Hipcamp. The host is somewhat rude, and the pictures on their ad could not be farthest from the actual setting! For example, there are pictures of a river, which appears to be in their property, but is actually a 10-min drive from the winery! There were also bunch of VOLES in our campsite!!! They were after the food, of course, so they were out even during the day! Just plain gross! Needless to say, we won’t be coming back especially at $64 per night. There are far better places and more decent hosts on Hipcamp.

Camping at Aaron’s land was fantastic! We arrived somewhat later in the day and witnessed an incredible sunset. We then got to talk to Aaron and learned an incredible amount about wine. This place is beautiful and I will be coming back when I need a place to stay

Parking the RV under a giant shade tree for the Memorial Day weekend was a great treat. It's always a treat to sleep by a vineyard! There were other campers, all friendly. It's a short drive to several other wineries and the river making it am amazing location. Aaron's is a great host, and makes delicious cider. We will be back, Thanks Aaron!

Very chill spot to camp. It’s on Aaron’s winery, and he does wine tastings for guests which was a great experience that we didn’t plan on but just went with it and was the highlight of our evening. Campsite itself was very suitable, a little close to RV’s (we were in a tent) but otherwise fine. Only issue was the porta potty which was not clean- Aaron mentioned that the company had not been able to make it out there to service it that week unfortunately. We were able to use the bathroom inside the wine cellar during the day which was fine, and early morning late night just opted to find a spot in the bushes rather than the porta potty. Road was a little bumpy but our RWD vehicle was able to handle it, albeit with a couple of nasty bumps (our car doesn’t have great ground clearance). If these issues are fine for your purposes than I would highly recommend the campsite.

Was not happy at all my family of three was put out in the middle of nowhere next to no other camper had no bathroom access and even though in the site it says campfires allowed they are in-fact not and he will charge you to rent a propane stove not satisfied with my stay.

Booked last minute and a great choice! Beautiful property, vineyard…views ….winemaker ….cider making guru. Aaron gave an impromptu tasting and crazy good educational experience about what and why he makes his wines and ciders “his” way. So good! Campsites kinda close together but lots of privacy and no issues with noise etc. Planning to stay there again soon!!

we had a gorgeous time at Aarons vinyard! the property was breathtaking, Aaron was available and very accommodating, and the porto potties were very clean. i highly, highly recommend scheduling a tasting, Aarons wines and ciders were DELICIOUS and he excellently guided us thru with enthusiasm and knowledge. only qualm is that the sites are both very close together and also to the road (not as secluded as we'd initially hoped), but it was everything that was listed and more! river access ~15 mins away ~ thank you, Aaron!

Incredible views, peaceful and safe

This place is a treasure! I wish I had arrived earlier so I could have enjoyed it to the fullest but I’m so glad I arrived at sunset because it was truly breathtaking. The site was clean and I had plenty of space to spread out since no one was in the site next to me. I slept extremely relaxed and comfortable, the weather was perfect and I felt very safe. This is an excellent Hipcamp and I will definitely be back!

Such a great stay with a kind and wonderful host! This was a last-minute stop as we camped our way from Sacramento to SLC, and it ended up being a real highlight of the trip. Meeting other campers who shared the same love for wine, nature, and connection made the experience even better. Watching the sunset over the vineyard and the distant hills felt like a perfect moment. Would definitely stay again.

MOST GO! I loved my stay here!! Definitely add the "taste and tour of the winery" IT WAS SUCH AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! Aaron our host was so knowledgeable and passionate about his wine. I bought 5 of his bottles!! And I tried each one from the tasting. I also will be back to his seminar where you can create your own. His wine is vegan and organic. His wine is also naturally fermented which I LOVE! Will definitely stay here again but not in my camper van but in his yurts!

What a wondeful place this is! Offering a calm hilltop spot with great scenery, it's a secure and comfortable secluded place to come relax and escape. My partner and I stayed here recently and even though it was storming a bit we had an amazing time; this winery/campsite is a lovely little nook settled in a beautiful area, it's a great central location for exploring the Fairplay area and we got a very reasonable price for our stay, would absolutely recommend. We really appreciate our time here, with such a friendly host, lovely countryside, and tasty wines, you can bet we'll be coming back and I'm certain you can guess where we'll be staying.

We had a fantastic stay at this campsite! It was exactly as described—private, peaceful, and surrounded by beautiful nature. Everything was well-maintained, and we truly appreciated the seclusion. A special highlight of our trip was the cider tasting session with Aaron. He was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, sharing fascinating insights about his vineyard, the cider-making process, and the nuances of growing grapes. It was such a memorable experience, and we left with a whole new appreciation for craft cider. Overall, we loved our stay and hope to return in the future!
