Excited to see what this place will look like soon! Owner still making improvements but even though unfinished, my wife and i had a great time stargazing.
Easy to find, Rod is very accommodating and if you like dark skies with privacy but near enough to city, this is it!

Couldn't get any more peaceful. Much quieter than staying at a rest or truck stop. Definitely not a place for long term staying but perfect for when just passing through. Only issue we had was following Google directions coming from the West at night. It took me nearly an hour trying to find the site in the dark because I was pulling a 26' travel trailer so I was limited to where I could turn around. Google kept trying to take me down what looked like ATV tracks. Best way to site is take 140th Street North at the EZ Trip gas station to Glendower Ave. Go past the large barricade that says Road Ends and follow the power lines. Go West on Glendower about 3/4 mile to the site. Google will insist on you taking 130th Street instead and go East on Glendower. Glendower didn't look safe to pull my trailer down from 130th, at least in the dark. I ended up going about 7 or 8 miles out of my way before I found an area large enough to turn around and head back to the highway. The site should reflect this in the description.

Check in should be earlier to give more sunlight to set up camp, and road markers to find the campsite better

We love to be totally off grid. This place is perfect. You can see the highway and railroad but can barely hear them. It’s actually kinda neat to watch the truck traffic at night and not be able to hear it.

Soon after booking the reservation communication was initiated and I was reassured that I would be received well and I was.
The desert campground was rustic, clean, tranquil and prepared with firewood. I enjoyed my stay.
My only dilemma was arriving late to the area and having to navigate in the dark however, with the intercession of Saint Anthony of Padua, I found the site.
