You will surely be charmed as you enter the gates to a lovely private garden and home surrounded by Redwoods. The Calla Lilly is a one bedroom cottage with a sofa bed in the living room and can accommodate up to 4 people. Skylights in the living room and plenty of windows viewing the private garden and view of redwoods surrounding it will bring the sense of majestic nature and a smile to your heart. Stay warm with a wood burning stove and make a great dinner in a fully equipped kitchen or dine at any of our world renowned restaurants in either Carmel or Big Sur. You may want to stay in and relax, read, sit in the garden or go hiking, shopping, galleries, kayaking, horseback riding, or attend the any of the many wonderful events in Big Sur, Carmel, Monterey, Pacific Grove and more. Conveniently located halfway between Carmel & Big Sur you will surely enjoy a spectacular drive along the spectacular Hwy 1 and then onto a serene and lovely forest road to arrive at this unique "Jewel in the Forest" nestled among the redwoods. We get plenty of sun most of the year even though we're in the forest. Close to amazing local hiking, shopping and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The area hosts many special events all year. Of course you may just want to relax and feel your connection to nature. There is also a lovely area open to all guests called "Carabella's Theatre" where you may enjoy painting, reading, playing music or just enjoying the peace. The entire property is also available for weddings, retreats and other gatherings. This property is owned by local artist Sofanya where you might find her working in her studio or gallery on the property. A small but adequate kitchen w small fridge next or to the side of the living room. The two burner propane stove top is outside on the deck along with your art supplies, chairs to relax in. It's a steep but short hike into the forest.

A lovely magical one bedroom forest cottage with sofa in the living room makes this a cozy forest dwelling. Fully equipped kitchen with full-size appliances. Private garden yard with lovely seating area. The space Vaulted ceilings and skylights in a rustic forest cottage with all the comforts of home. Wood-burning stove (all firewood provided) and propane cooking range. Art materials are provided and expressive exploration encouraged! Full bath/shower with double vanity. Guest access Larger common-area courtyard with a propane fire pit and propane BBQ (shared by other guests on the property.) Art Gallery open 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Essence Portraits by advance appointment with Sofanya. Internet access available in the art gallery just a few feet away. Landline available in the Art Gallery as well, for U.S. calls and 911 in an emergency. Other things to note There are other guests on the property in separate dwellings. I have an indoor/outdoor dog that goes everywhere on the property, sometimes unattended. She can jump the fence at Calla Lilly Cottage and might visit you -- please let me know if you prefer that she doesn't.

A modern cozy interesting design with a great view of the Redwood Forest. This is a fun cabin and a bit like "glamping" so expect rustic. Enjoy a unique outdoor shower inside a redwood tree stump. Relax and read, paint, meditate in the living room with a view. A small but adequate kitchen w small fridge next or to the side of the living room. The two burner propane stove top is outside on the deck along with your art supplies, chairs to relax in. It's a steep but short hike into the forest. The space This is a metal house and a Big Sur modern retreat. One bedroom with full bed, close to the floor. Electric oil heater in bedroom. The living room is cozy with a great view of the forest. Kitchen is mostly part of the living room, and stove top outside on the deck. Guest access Pull into parking lot and park on the left where you see the sign for "Lotus" or "Dome". If you have a 4WD or AWD let Sofanya know so she can arrange a parking spot closer to the cabin. Other things to note This is an interesting fun cabin....just a step above "glamping" so plan accordingly. It can get chilly in the evening, or in winter so bring layers, sweater, jacket, socks, slippers, flip flops to get to and from the shower which is a few feet away up a dirt path, in a large tree trunk!

A mixture of "Big Sur Bohemian" and modern flair. Master BR with Queen bed and 2 smaller BR's (each with double bed), large Living Room with dining area, and a private sunny courtyard surrounded by Redwoods. The space You will love this Big Sur Bohemian-style 3-bedroom home with a private sunny courtyard located in one of the most beautiful spots on earth. Great for family bonding time in nature, a romantic getaway, a reunion of friends, or a private artist/writer retreat. There is a queen bed with a picture-window view of forest life in the Master BR. The two smaller bedrooms each have a double bed. Fully equipped Kitchen and a full Bath with forest view. Like all the dwellings in the "Jewel in the Forest" property you'll be provided with art supplies for your expression and inspiration. Larger common-area courtyard with a propane fire pit. Group painting classes available by appt. Min of 4 for class. Art Gallery open 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Essence Portraits by advance appointment with Sofanya. Internet and land line available in the Art Gallery for U.S. calls.

Lotus Blossom Cabin

A cozy, rustic, secluded cabin, accessed via 3/10-mile steep hike from the main part of the property. The perfect getaway for romance, writers, artists or anyone who needs a retreat in nature! I'm going to emphasize again that the hike to the cabin, although not a very long hike it is very steep especially nearest to the cabin. You'll be carrying all your belongings so plan accordingly. If you are pregnant this isn't a good option. Contact Sofanya for other lodging options. The space This tiny forest cabin is separated from all other dwellings on the property, and requires that you hike uphill with your belongings & groceries. Please keep this in mind when preparing! The semi-outdoor Bath provides a forest view while showering! The kitchenette is equipped with a 3-burner cooktop, mini-fridge, coffee maker, toaster, and all dishes, pots/pans & cutlery. The semi-outdoor Bath provides a forest view while showering! Art supplies are provided so you can express your experience through painting. (Art classes & "Essence Portraits" available by appointment with Sofanya.)
