The historic Red Skelton Ranch, a private valley surrounded by mountains with the Pacific Crest Trail less than 1/2 mile to the east. The Ranch has 15 miles of trails, a swimable pond, with breath taking sunsets and dark skies full of stars. Just 8 minutes to a local casino and 30 minutes to shops and restaurants on El Paseo Drive in Palm Desert.     We stumbled across this amazing property only because of Hipcamp. Steve is a great host and the views on the 600 acre ranch are second to none! We caught a full moon that lit up the high desert and mountain. Our rig is self-contained just the way we like it. Pretty much had the whole place to ourselves.

    We had a lovely time camping at Burnt Valley during the Perseids Meteor Shower! The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, and the valley is stunning. Lots of space to spread out. Definitely gets hot during the summer days and quite chilly and damp at night, bring layers! Absolutely stellar place for stargazing. Thank you so much, we’ll be back soon!
