Bridgeport Reservoir is a lake at the lower end of Bridgeport Valley in Mono County, California. Its earth-filled dam was constructed in 1923 by the Walker River Irrigation District, along the East Walker River. The campground and marina was built I-don't-know-how-long ago, but it sure is nice! About Us: Welcome to Bridgeport Reservoir Marina and Campground. Join us for the classic camping and fishing experience with unique views of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Within the Toiyabe National Forest, Bridgeport Reservoir Marina and Campground is conveniently located near two distinct hot spring areas. A true angler's paradise, the Reservoir has excellent trout fishing from spring through fall and is close by to multiple rivers for incredible fly fishing. A 35 minute drive on highway 120 will take you to the Tioga Pass Gate of Yosemite National Park. This gate is a great start to several different areas inside of the park that you may want to visit beyond that gate. Off-road enthusiasts would not have enough time in one visit to explore all of the 4x4 trails, abandoned mines, and sites in the area as well as the famous trail that brings you right to the Bodie Ghost Town. Climate and Ecosystem: At 6,400 feet (1,950 meters), this high desert climate has little to moderate tree coverage and gets hot during the days and cool at night. The conditions are much like Joshua Tree National Park or Alabama Hills camping area. During your visit, you will notice many flying insects that resemble mosquitos. These Chironomid are harmless and do not bite. On the contrary, the mosquito presence is very minimal. Swimming in the lake is possible usually between April to July.

I did a layover on the way to NorCal. Turned out to be awesome. The Lake is vast and set beautifully against the mountains. Facilities were clean and well-maintained. Paid for the hot shower, and would recommend it to everyone. Friendly and helpful staff as well. 2 miles from town, which has some pretty good road food. Would be a great place to stay and relax for a few days if I wanted to explore the surrounding area.

I loved camping at chases land and found there were many things to do near the area. Check-in/out was a breeze and the lady ant the front desk was helpful and suggested the hot springs nearby which could easily be the best part of the trip. Only con was a lot of bugs/mosquitos (not due to owners but nature doing its thing) around flying anywhere and everywhere. Luckily it gets fairly windy and they blow away, surprisingly did not get bit. We pitched our tent close to the tree/bush and the sprinkler system would go off at odd hours for short periods of time making it a bit hard to sleep(I’m a light sleeper though, my partner slept through it all). We didn’t get a chance to meet Chase but the site was wonderful and we got out of the city to enjoy some peace and nature.

When life comes crashing through my door with the demands of adulthood igniting a gasoline soaked midlife crisis brought on by the sprinting in place that is the pace of the bay area... I retreat to Bridgeport. As I sit here watching the sun kiss the top of breeze curled waves with the wind at my face and my troubles behind me I think of how simple happiness can be. I truly wish I could be here forever. Bridgeport holds a special place in my heart, showing me stars like i'd never seen before or since, cradling me in a hidden oasis of peace and traquility. My cat is in love with Bridgeport as well. She was even brave enough to go out on one of the rented Kayaks, a mere $15 for 2 hours. Crusing the glass like reflection of the snow topped sierras for the price of a hipster's latte, priceless. 4 days went by in a flash, but the memories will always remain cemented, etched into a safe place in my mind labeled, "Break Glass in case of Emergency." The camp sites are clean, cheap and roomy, the bathroom decent enough, and the views are stunning. It's a place where in the company of the waters symphony against the shore all of life's answers come easy. Not the first time and certainly not the last that I will visit my favorite place, Bridgeport.

My husband, brother-in-law & I visited Chase and the campground while passing through the area. Booking was easy, Chase was very prompt to respond. When we arrived, it was very windy out, something that we were not well prepared for (we brought a tent). The canvas tents were already closed for the season, but Chase was kind and let us put our air mattresses in the canvas tent so we didn't blow away in the middle of the night! The shower was nice and hot and all amenities were clean. We woke up in the morning to a gorgeous snow storm coming in over the mountains and had a small campfire on the beach before heading out. If we're ever back in the area, we will most definitely come back to this campground! Can't recommend it enough.

Beautiful area, especially at sunset. The star-filled night sky is amazing because there’s no light pollution. The store had all the essentials and staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Despite the camp sites being somewhat close together, no one bothered us. Firewood delivered. They’ve planted lots of trees which will provide lots of shade and privacy in the years to come. We can’t wait to come back and will stay longer next time for sure!

Bridgeport Reservoir had everything we needed! We camped with our baby & dog at a waterfront site in our truck camper, while my sister camped in a big-rig site nearby with her kids. The reservoir was great for the views (not for swimming or water activities at this time of year), and all the kids had fun riding their bikes around camp. The sun shades and picnic tables were nice touches at our site too. Showers cost an extra fee and the bathrooms are just okay, so RVs with their own bathrooms were most common. This was also a convenient location for getting out to see fall foliage across the Eastern Sierra! I recommend this spot to RV/trailer campers who need some space.

Our stay at Tent Site 17, was great! The view of the reservoir/mountains couldn’t have been beaten. Even if we had neighbour’s, the campsite was still very spacious. The shower and toilets were very clean, and functioning. We also benefited from having the store available with things we may have forgotten, and the workers were extremely helpful with hiking/fishing spot recommendations. Highly recommend coming here! We’ll definitely be back.
