Cabin made of windows
What an amazing cabin! It was really neat to stay in a cabin made of windows. Loved being in a little forest and in a farming area yet still within walkable distance of a cute cafe for breakfast. Ted and Emily were great hosts and left the cabin lights on for me when I arrived after dark. I really appreciated the board of suggestions for food inside the cabin!
Overall a great experience. Everything is at your fingertips - cooking and eating area just outside, as well as a bathroom and outdoor shower. It's definitely cold at night in the fall, so bring extra blankets and/or use the wood stove!

The stay at the cabin was so lovely! The string lights and the banana slugs outside were our favorites :)

Two thumbs up for the Bayside Cabin
We had a really nice night staying at Ted and Emily's Bayside Cabin. Cozy and private, and lots of exploring to do on this part of the coast. We met Ted briefly, and he was nice and accommodating. Just make sure that you actually read and pay attention to their simple instruction to bring your own bedding or sleeping bags! No worries though, as the stove provided ample heat and got the cabin cozy. We will certainly look forward to going back!

Camping in the Trees
A little bit of heaven in the woods! Ted and Emily built a structure that takes full advantage of the site. It is small - but not in a bad way - but in a cozy way. The wood stove provides enough heat for the area's climate. The kitchen is furnished with the basics. The outdoor shower is an absolute delight with plenty of hot water and killer views. This is not a fancy place, but a place with a lot of soul that provides what you need in order to camp in Arcata. Ted was extremely responsive to our needs. We made lots of banana slug friends. Loved it and would gladly return.

Bayside Cabin
Ted and Emily's cabin is absolutely perfect for a nice little getaway. We arrived late and they were kind enough to leave the lights on for us to make the spot easier to find. The cabin is so cute and just the right size. At first we thought the bed was a little firm but after the first night we started to wonder if we needed to upgrade our mattress to something more firm. We slept amazingly.
Be sure to bring your bikes! Arcata is a quick bike ride away and we were able to do so much exploring on our bikes and not having to worry about our car was amazing.
The banana slugs were fun to watch. It was like once you saw one, you were able to spot them all quickly. We enjoyed them being around.
This cabin reminded us so much of a bungalow we stayed at in Hawaii. It truly was a magical experience. If you're lucky enough to stay while it rains, it's the best night of sleep you'll ever have.
