A welcoming and restful place.
This was such a welcome rest for us. Such a lovely rustic property with just enough amenities to make us feel good. The host was kind and responsive to our questions. We would recommend this spot and go back if we were ever out south of Bakersfield again.

A GREAT place to stop and rest
What a perfect spot. My wife and I needed a last minute place to crash for the night and seen Meredith’s farm. It looked perfect and upon arrival, the pictures didn’t do it justice. From the clean bathrooms, to the outdoor shower and serine pond, we highly recommend the location to any travelers. Some reviews mentioned the noise but we didn’t find it very distracting at all.

Perfect for the 5 corridor
For the 5 corridor look no further! Autonomy Farms is super close to the 5/99 yet quiet, serene, and beautiful. We stayed in spot 5 which is great for vans and smaller RVs. The bathroom is clean. The shower would be great for rinsing off after a dip in the pond. The Punjabi Dhaba is just a short drive away and has delicious Indian food.
Highly recommend!

Great camping spot!
Great overnight stop!. Secure, peaceful and exactly what we needed as Vancampers. The hot shower and bathrooms were a bonus !
We were welcomed by Cleo the dog at the gate - don't be intimidated - she's the friendliest, gentle dog you've met - and has a great personality!
You'll need a code to unlock the lock on the gate - the host will send you this once you book.
We were woken up by the rooster orchestra which we didn't mind at all
Meredith is very responsive and the checkin is contactless
Side note: They were putting in a solar panel array while we were there in April - very cool!

I loved the spot! The lake was really nice. Next time, I’d bring a small fishing pole and try to snag some of these small fish for fun. Also, the dogs were great. Esp the American Bulldog, Cleo. Very sweet doggo!

My family and I had a great weekend at the pond. The campsites were spread out and private enough. It was nice to have a flushable toilet in the bathroom and the heated shower was perfect after a dip in the pond.
Relaxing in the sun, fishing, and a campfire made our day complete.

Best camping in Bakersfield for sur
Nice for camping. Provided tents look cool too! But we stayed in a tent we brought. The shower and bathroom are nice. Best camping in Bakersfield for sure!

First hipcamp experience!
We enjoyed the swim hole we brought our rafts and kids brought their life vests. The dogs are friendly Meredith and staff are friendly. The hot shower and indoor toilet was a major plus. Water by your campsite is very nice , the fire ring is a plus. We enjoyed our Chicken from Meredith. We will definitely be back with the family. This was our first hipcamp and it was a good spot.

Lights & Noise
It was alright. We assumed it would be dark and quiet because it’s remote but that was far from what we found. The street lights / string lights were very bright and probably necessary due to the body of water there. We knew there was “a working dog that barks at night” that the host told us about but we didn’t know that the dog would bark ALL night non stop. Like a low tired bark that took maybe 5-10 min breaks every hour or couple hours. Needless to say we didn’t get much sleep. Would probably be nice for someone else, just not us.

Great site. Super cute and relaxing. The farm dogs were friendly, well disciplined, and made us feel safe. The outdoor hot shower was a pleasant surprise, esp since this site was a stopover, after camping in the desert for few days.

We loved the space provided to camp and to enjoy the grounds. The reflection on the pond at sunset was my highlight. The canvas tent was clean and in good condition. There was ample space to stretch out even with other campers.

Ram Promaster 2500 Campervan!
Autonomy Farm’s is the cutest little spot with everything you may need! We stopped here in our Ram Promaster campervan on our way to Joshua Tree from Davis, CA. It was a great midway point from the Central Valley. Cell service was abundant. The bathroom was clean and easily accessible from all campsites.
As a host, Meredith is extremely responsive and accommodating! We struggled with parking our van in the designated spot (BYO tent #1) due to height but she gave us clear direction on where to go and mentioned making accommodations for this spot for future guests. Every other spot was perfect for vans and soon this one will be as well!
I would absolutely stay with Meredith again and HIGHLY recommend the add on of eggs and bacon to any traveler. If we had more room in our fridge we would’ve gotten more directly from the farm. 🤗
Thank you again, Meredith!

Just a few words to describe Autonomy Farms. Meredith was the host with the most, the dogs were such a fun addition for the kids, lots of space for volleyball and soccer, and everything you need in one place. We will def be back!

Nice Spot!
Was great for us! We were heading to the desert from the Bay Area and wanted a place to camp midway. Not many public campgrounds around Barkersfield, so this was just right. The directions were clear and Meredith greeted us via text to see if we needed anything. We had the camping area to ourselves the night we were there. We arrived at dinnertime and left at dawn, so didn't try the pond. It's a pretty, rural spot. There were 3 friendly farm dogs and roosters at dawn, but it was all fine with us.

Camping at the Farm!
We had a blast on our stay here. The place is perfect if you love quiet camping. It’s not crowded and it’s quiet at night. The restroom is clean and the tent is perfect for 5 people. The table is big enough for a big family. The phone reception is clear and there are outlets to charge your phone. The pond is a perfect view while doing smores and bbq. Their meat is really good! The steak is so tender, the kids love the bacon. The eggs are so fresh and the chicken is yummy! My kids love the hammock and the pond. They super love the 2 white big dogs that guard us every night. The place is near Murray’s Farm. We went there to see the place and we got free pumpkins. The direction is very easy. Just follow Google Maps. We surely want to come back again.

My family and I had an amazing time at the Autonomy Farms! There's lots of great things to mention; The scenery is beautiful, the swimming hole is sooo nice to jump into on a warm day, there's big jenga blocks to use with family/friends, and we were greeted by the sweetest dogs who lived on the property! I definitely recommend getting some of the meat they offer with the booking. The chicken, steak, bacon, and eggs were all super delicious :D
