Ascension Ranch is an off-grid paradise with a unique and ever growing list of features and activities. Family owned and operated, we want to be that breath of fresh air from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life that everyone needs. With a serene environment, a healthy mix of farm animals, and good old fashion ranch activities, there's a little bit of something for everyone to enjoy. Some of the things you'll come across at Ascension Ranch include baby farm animals, sheep, goats, cattle, horses, ranch dogs, chickens, equestrian activities, hiking, biking, camping, archery, lake activities, amazing views, access to endless trails around Folsom Lake, grass-fed meats, fresh produce and of course, good company. Staying on the ranch can be as social, or as rural as guests choose. Camp alone, or bring others, whether it be your 4-legged companions or friends and family, we welcome all campers who respect and enjoy the great outdoors as much as we do.

Eagles Nest

96%
(114)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 40 · Vehicles under 15 ft
Choose to camp Eagles Nest and be perched at the top of Ascension Ranch for amazing views of Folsom Lake by day, and city lights by night. This is a spectacular multi-tiered site that gets lots of sunshine, and is set up with the common area being at the highest point for the best views in the house, also boasting a rock-lined fire pit and large picnic table. Take a few steps down to the lower tier for a nice flat tent-area that can comfortably house 2-4 tents depending on size. For those who crave more privacy, you're welcome to wonder anywhere above or below the tiered area to find an exclusive tent-pad that tickles your fancy. This is the ideal pick for those who are seeking more sun than shade, a whole lot of privacy, and un-obstructed views with walk-out / ride-out trail head access to a private portion of the upper Darrington Trail (~30 minutes to the lake by foot, ~15 by hoof, and ~7 by car).  With direct access to hiking, biking, and horse friendly trails that lead to, and around Folsom Lake, we encourage guests to bring all their toys... think about bringing light weight paddle boats, water floats, fishing gear, binoculars, hiking gear, mountain bikes, and of course your horses. 4wd or high clearance vehicles are highly recommended during the winter months.

Hold your HORSES!

93%
(74)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 15 · Vehicles under 15 ft
Hold your HORSES offers guests a complete horse immersed experience - The site is located in our large pasture where our friendly herd of horses some time comes to visit campers (If you don't see the horses, ask we can accommodate). They can typically be "shoed" away out of the site if you need a break, but truly enjoy camping with our guests. The campsite can easily accommodate larger groups and up to 4 tents. Follow a walking path from any of the tents and it will lead you back to the common area which is home to a rock-lined fire pit and large picnic table.  Nestled in among our lower pasture, the views are of an oak savanna and rolling hills. This is the ideal pick for those who are seeking a little bit of shade, a whole lot of privacy, and walk-out / ride-out trail head access.  With direct access to hiking, biking, and horse friendly trails that lead to, and around Folsom Lake, we encourage guests to bring all their toys ... think about bringing light weight paddle boats, water floats, fishing gear, binoculars, hiking gear, mountain bikes, and of course your horses. Ready to make this trip one to remember?  Consider booking a 2 hour trail ride - to the lake! Visit our AscensionRanch.org to add this activity to your stay, and learn more about the ranch. *** We encourage guests to follow "Ascension Ranch" on Facebook or Google to see the latest happenings on the Ranch and see what's going on in-between your visits!
