Very nice set up, multiple sites. All the sites are in a valley so you do hear everything. But it’s all pines and redwood trees all around. The road to the sites is steep and narrow but ok.

Overall, we had a pretty good experience. Some campsites are small and don’t have parking spots on the campsite. The large, site 6, campsite perfectly fit our camper van and suited our needs. The only problem is that the road is super narrow and there are low hanging branches that could be maintained a little better. The bathrooms are not super clean, but at least there are some!

The site itself was very pretty and well maintained. The restrooms/showers were…scary? questionable? sketchy? They could use a deep clean and new shower curtains stat.
For the price, we would have expected some things to be a bit nicer.

We had an amazing time camping in the redwoods! We were visited by a doe, and her two spotted bonds, many turkey mamas, and their babies… Even saw a banana slug! Bathrooms were clean and there weren’t a lot of people so we enjoyed the quiet! Highly recommend and would definitely return!

Camping under the great Redwoods

A redwood campsite awaits you at the bottom of a slim winding old road down into the heart of soaring redwoods. We had site 3 which was big enough to fit two camper vans side by side. The campground was busy but people were quiet the weekend we were there. We were well situated to explore trails, wine country and a great welcoming community.

Large Group Site, Drive In, Shade
Booked this site for our group of 10. The site is close to the bathroom, only a short walk up a small hill to be there. We found the space to be perfect size for our group. We were able to set up our badminton net, corn hole, tables for cooking, 2 picnic tables, our chair circle and our propane fire pit super easily with tons of space. The bathrooms were okay, lots of bugs inside at night (kind of expect this but just for anyone to be prepared). The shower curtain could use a changing but pack shower shoes and you should be okay. At the group site we also had a large redwood lose a few branches in the middle of the day that came crashing down. Luckily this happened during the day but it was scary that this could have fallen on someone’s tent if we were set up somewhere else. The entire campsite was super booked but we found each site to be extremely private. We will definitely be coming back in the future.

This is a beautiful campground with very rustic accommodations. The atmosphere was great. Having fishable toilets was a bonus. The shower was a bit grimy, but just remember your sandals. Also beware the road is a narrow one lane road most of the way through the campground. The entire campground is on a fairly steep hill, so caution to anyone braving a trailer like we did. Also for those towing or with tall vehicles beware, some of the large trees are a real hazard to vehicles if not carefully navigated.

The site is fine. It’s down a fairly steep hill from the bathrooms/showers, so I wouldn’t recommend it for families with small kids or folks with limited mobility, despite being a drive in site. It’s a fine space for camping, but the pictures are misleading and there isn’t any privacy at this site, only at a couple of the ones with even less physical access. There was very little separation between us and the other camp sites, including the group sites- which, when we stayed there, were loud into the night past 10. Also, if you want to get to the walking trail, you have to walk through the group sites- when we were there trucks and cars were parked across the access so we didn’t get to explore. Maybe a good spot for singles or folks without kids, but not for families.

Beautiful site with giant redwoods and redwood fairy rings. Drive down the property is steep and tight, but the sites are easily accessible and mostly well spaced out (exception, sites 8/12). Water and showers worked, other guest were respectful and quiet, no trash to be seen.

Site 2 was a great location It was set back a little from the main road, which gave us some privacy. We like the fact that it was close to the restrooms. The area was scenic and quiet, which offered time to relax and unwind.

This campsite is the in the middle of a few campsites, the acoustics of the valley amplified the noises from below and above us. It didn't help that the group camping site was extremely loud past midnight, slamming car doors, crying children, playing music. The overall property is nice but would not recommend staying at this campsite.

Spot 12 was behind spot 8. There was no marker though. It was closer to the main trail, creek. We had two tents setup. Space became tight. With kids they were going up and down the trail to the creek. We can still see them. As it's slippery they fell a bit. Nothing major. Will not recommend this spot with kids as they may wanna run around. Kids enjoyed a lot though. Lovely place over all. Bathrooms were super clean and you have a shower as well. All well maintained.

A lovely, quiet spot and the site we had was great for a larger group. Slightly improved signage and / or map would be appreciated as both the large group site and site 12 are unlabelled. We hope to come back some day.

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful campsite, but there were definitely some trade-offs worth noting to help folks plan ahead.
Pros
- Beautiful forest surroundings
- The creek at the end of the trail is stunning
- Trail is extremely well marked
- Free showers
Cons
- The listing advertises “1 free hot shower” but I could not see a way to run this or pay for hot showers. Water only ran cold so beware of this depending on your time of visit
- Only two bathroom units for the whole campground, one for women and one for men. Each unit had 2 bathroom stalls and 1 shower. This totals 4 bathroom stalls and 2 showers for ~17 campsites, and 1-2 glamping tents. Plan accordingly for lines if you’re staying during peak holiday times.
- Facilities were functional and relatively clean, but do seem overdue for a deeper clean. Bathroom sinks and showers showed visible wear and grime that might bother folks.
- Minimal staff presence. No staff monitoring entrances. As far as I’m aware, there were no measures in place to ensure people were in the correct campsites. We never received a follow up requesting our vehicle type, etc. We noticed several guests struggling to find their campsites
None of the cons were a big deal for us. We enjoyed our stay, but wanted to be fully transparent for others.

Camp spots are amongst towering redwoods, spot 3 specifically looks down a slope onto a group of beautiful trees. (If you want to back into spot its down a slope and around a corner...)
This is my 10th site in CA with Hipcamp and the first time I feel I overpaid. The spot is beautiful, the toilets are functional and not porta-potties, but one look at the women's shower had me deciding to wait until I am back home. Two nights at over $200 incl 1 dog ... most expensive I've booked so far but not best spot.
Based on reviews I made sure to be there before dark (100% agree), and the last 2miles are rough road for a little camper, but it's all doable for a regular car. There is essentially no cell reception. I sent host a message from the road and received a reply ~7h later. I wouldn't have been able to contact them via the app while at the camp. Download your driving and hiking maps ahead of time!

It was just right for my needs for my 1 night stay.. Single vehicle with rooftop tent.I took some pics of the giant redwoods as well. Pretty cool formations in some sites. I wouldn’t want to pull a camper or drive an RV to it as the roads r narrow. But a beautiful drive to it. Tents, Sprinter vans and roof top tents is what I would recommend.

My husband and I enjoyed our one-night stay at this campground nestled among beautiful redwood groves. We were car camping in our Toyota Tacoma and appreciated the peaceful atmosphere.
The good:
• Shady spot with a nice view
• Picnic table included
• Only a 2-minute uphill walk to the bathroom
• Clear directions to the campsite and nearby creek trail
Things to improve:
The bathroom was stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap, but the small trash bin for paper towels was overflowing onto the floor. A larger bin and more frequent cleaning (dust and spiderwebs) would help. We skipped the shower due to that, but were fine for a one-night stay.
Heads up:
• The road to the campground is narrow and winding—only one car fits at a time in some spots. It’s paved, but nature has taken its toll in areas. Drive slowly, especially with a low-clearance vehicle.
• Our site was mostly level, but for car camping, we needed extra flat space. The best spot still had a 5% incline, and we had to reposition and use wood under the tires. Tent campers may have an easier time.
• This site is near the main road, so expect some headlights and car noise at night, especially if other campers drive to the bathroom.
Overall, it met the needs for our trip.

Awesome site! Beautiful spot in the redwoods. Group campsite is large and well maintained with lots of sites for cars and tents. Drive in is a little steep but just have to go slow with any bigger rigs. Highly recommend!

Great quiet site! Our kids had fun playing in a natural fort like structure in the middle of a growth of redwoods right in our campsite! Also the trail to the creek is great experience. Sites are spaced relatively far away from each other so noise wasn’t generally a problem at night. Water quality from the spring was good! Lots of mosquitos, but they didn’t seem to bite very much- be sure to bring bug spray!

Beautiful property with a great mix of campsites that either offer shade within the redwoods or sunshine with amazing views. The bathrooms were clean. The whole campground is on a hill so helpful to know that if you’re not close to the bathroom you’ll have to walk up and down a hill a bit.

Lack of Security and Neglected Infr
Unfortunately, our experience at the camping area did not meet our expectations. Upon arrival, we noticed there was no gatehouse or security personnel to monitor the entry and exit of vehicles and guests, which raised concerns about safety. Additionally, the property appeared poorly maintained, with overgrown vegetation and restrooms showing significant signs of wear and lack of upkeep. Overall, the infrastructure seemed neglected, detracting considerably from our stay.

The site was great! There was a decent amount of privacy between campsites, so I think it is way better than a normal campground. The bathroom and showers were rustic and simple, but they worked. The trees and the long winding drive were beautiful.
