Stayed here for the second time and thought it was just as wonderful as before. Will stay here again in the future anytime I'm in the Shasta area!

Not great
This is the first Hipcamp that I’ve been disappointed in. There were nothing remarkable about the property, especially that the view of Mount Shasta was hidden behind trees. I had wanted to camp out while looking at Shasta, but this is not the place. There was a mowed field with rocks and nothing much else. Not even anything that would come close to a table. My recommendation is to pay a little more and get something nicer.

Jamel and Meshel are fantastic hosts! They are low key, warm and friendly. They welcomed everyone hip-camping to join their social circle. Good signage made it easy to find. My camper had a minor mechanical failure that would have made continuing on the trip difficult. Jamel drove to town, bought the parts, and was able to fix my camper and get me back on the road. Really great folks!

The Grove
Gem of a farm at affordable rate!
Nancy graciously, greeted us, as we drove up the driveway and immediately introduced us to her adorable alpacas, mini horses, donkeys, pigs, dogs, and sheep. My daughter could not get enough of giggling at alpaca- “Midnight”, hair do and expressions. What a character!!!
We stayed at the Grove campsite, which was perfect flat and set between beautiful trees for welcoming shade.
I recommend this gem to those not afraid to get rustic, dirty, pee outdoors, use a well maintained porta potty (fyi… the door is open with a cinder block to keep it fresh, just move the block to close the door… oy vey.. to the review that referenced the open door). You will need to cart your gear through a gate and pasture with a wagon provided. Too only 2 trips… probably less if you have someone more helpful thank my daughter (9). 🤷🏻♀️
Nancy has a cute boutique to sell some alpaca gifties as well.
If we find ourselves in the are again we would stay again, possibly upgrading to the cabin or trailer since we are in late and out early.
