23 beautiful acres at the top of the mountain overlooking the valley below and the mountains on the other side. We are often Above the Clouds in the mornings. You will need to come up a windy country road to get to us but it will be well worth it. Learn more about this land: Welcome to our Above the Clouds RV spot, tucked away in between Napa and Sonoma Valleys - right in the middle of wine country! This is the perfect peaceful getaway near great outdoor activities and some of the best wineries in California! About the Property: Above the Clouds campsite is surrounded by beautiful, stately trees and overlooks the Valley of the Moon with a stunning mountain view. We are just 11 miles from the city of Sonoma and only 8 miles from the Napa Valley - making both destinations really easy to get to. You can enjoy the California wineries, restaurants, and shops that you'd like! We are also ideally located near Jack London State Park - which is a really pretty and historic place to go! The opportunities for hiking around our property are endless, and definitely head to the wineries if that's of interest to you. On our property you can enjoy exploring our more-than 20 acres of land, taking the row-boat (provided by Hosts) out on our pond, hiking or just relaxing in a serene setting and watching a great variety of birds. Formerly utilized as a bed and breakfast, when we moved to the property we definitely wanted to continue sharing the land and views with guests. As hosts, we are around and enjoy getting to know the our visitors if you are up for that, otherwise we are also happy to respect total privacy. There are 3 sites next to the pond, we have one that is there all the time in the summer but those folks only come a couple of times each month. The 2 others are right next to each other near the pond. We haven't started having more than one rented at a time yet but do expect to start that soon. You may have a neighbor or 2. We hope you enjoy the beautiful sunsets and being literally above the clouds as much as we do! About the Listing: Come park your RV on our property and set up camp at a beautiful spot right next to the pond. You should expect to see us on the property, though your site is well away from the house We have minimal electrical and we do have water hookups available for your RV, we do allow generators. There is a BBQ grill that you are welcome to use for cooking some wonderful meals if you'd like! You can enjoy a bite to eat at the picnic table near your campsite. There is also potable water from our natural spring available onsite for guests. You can enjoy watching the birds, turkeys and deer that meander through the meadow, and feel free to roam around the property taking in the fresh outdoor air! Additional Details to Note: - Check-in is after 2pm and check-out is before 12pm - Things to bring: Everything you need to camp comfortably! Think: toilet paper, cookware, bathing suits if you like, etc. - We do not have wifi available on site and cell reception is spotty, especially for certain carriers. Please prepare accordingly for your travels and your stay. - There is a fire ban in effect, so please no campfires, but we do allow you to use a propane fire pit if you bring it yourself. - We welcome your pets! They can be off leash if they are friendly and if they don't run off - we do not have a fence. - You can contact us if you'd like to check in early - if nobody needs to check out, we are happy to accommodate you! Welcome to our Above the Clouds RV spot, tucked away in between Napa and Sonoma Valleys - right in the middle of wine country! Lower Site 3 is situated on the lower part of the property. This space is further from the house down past our storage out buildings. It is more private. Water is available but no electricity at this site. It has a nice view and is a quiet, restful space. This space is a little easier to park a trailer if you are not very adept at parking.

We loved our two-night stay in November. Colleen and her dog Mimi were so delightful and welcoming to my family and two large woofers. The space fitted our 27 foot Airstream easily and the views were spectacular, especially at sunrise and sunset when the tule fog happened to be in the valley and we floated above.

Colleen was great and so nice, unfortunately we did not get a chance to meet Phil. This property has an AMAZING view!! The camp sites are nice and flat as well. Our dog had a blast as roaming the property. It’s worth the trip to see what discover. You will not be disappointed! We will be back

This is a wonderful location if you are seeking tranquility. Sitting by the pond and relaxing by the pool melts all the stress away. Both Phil and Colleen were warm and gracious hosts. They were there when I needed them and not there when I didn’t. I would not hesitate to go back. Oh yea, did I mention it is dog friendly too!

Beautiful place to camp in the hills above wine country! Phil met us outside and led us to the spot, which was level for sleeping. There were chairs and a picnic table for use, and the water and electricity hook-up were great. We had dinner while watching an amazing sunset, we’d definitely stay here again!

What a great place with wonderful hosts. Very quiet with beautiful views. Lots of wildlife. Woke up to deer grazing on the property, fish in the pond, woodpeckers, hawks, finches and swallowtail butterflies. Close to many wineries and great hiking and stargazing at Sugarloaf State Park.

Such a beautiful property! We stayed for Bottlerock so we didn’t spend a lot of time at camp, but the views were magnificent. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Would love to come back in the summer when we can take advantage of the lovely pool.

Such a great, peaceful stay and just a quick trip to get into Glen Ellen for food. Phil and Colleen were super friendly and welcoming as soon as I arrived. The site also has a nice, clear view of the sky so I was able to get work done via my Starlink easily. My only piece of advice for others considering is to take the route that approaches from the West as the other route was really quite challenging when towing. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone!

Private camp site with nice views

We camped at site #2 and very much enjoyed it. Perched high up on a hill in Sonoma County, it has one of the best views we’ve come across with Hip Camp. Even though it’s only a 20 min climb from civilization, the view is mostly wild hillside. Host Colleen was very friendly and helpful, and they have a friendly black lab named Minnie. Both sites are near the owners house, but you can hardly see any neighbors; view from most directions are wild hillsides. The site was fairly flat, but you’d need a wheel leveler to make it completely level. The best part, for people like us who don’t like to back in a trailer, site 2 offers a turn-around so you don’t have to back up when you leave. Good well water is supplied by nearby hose bibs, with good pressure. However, there are no standard RV 30amp or 50Amp hook-ups; electricity is supplied by a thick gauge extension cord with a domestic 3-prong connection, so make sure you have that adapter. The 15amp supply will not power A/C, but did fine with microwave and other light loads. The nice hill views mean you have to climb up a long winding road, with many hairpin turns, to get there. Our trailer is 19’, and we feel that’s is the max length we’d be comfortable towing up there. Definitely would NOT recommend for any Class-As or larger trailers. Many hiking trails and boutique vineyards with tasting, within 30 mins drive. We recommend this site, and will likely return.

Phil and Colleen are more than accommodating! When we arrived in dark, they had someone helped us to park our trailer which was so helpful! They also helped us setup, making sure we had everything we needed. The site is really nice, sitting right next to the lovely little pond. My son had so much fun rowing the little boat in the pond. We enjoyed the location, 25 minutes driving into the town, close to many wineries. Phil even provided some free tasting coupon for us to use. Phil is also a vet handy host, he helped to fixed an electrical issue and made sure we had our needs met. Overall, it was a lovely campsite to stay for a few nights. The stars were amazing at night too!
