Maple Heart Ranch - Homestead

Overall it was private and we loved the horses. When getting to the gate, Conny was prompt and no issues with the drive in. Our drive was comfortable in our CRV but might be slower in a car. Lucky that we brought our own TP because there was none in the washroom. Sites are simple with a fire ring and picnic table.

Lovely Maple Heart Ranch

Our campsite was private and nestled in nature. We had so much fun interacting with the horses, they were very friendly and sweet. The surrounding property was spacious, beautiful, and beaming with wildlife.

A very comfortable camping environment, with horses, sheep, and other animals keeping you company — a great choice. The pit toilet was clean and odor-free, definitely worth a thumbs-up. Suggestion: It would be even better if the toilet door could close properly and if there were running water

Lovely ranch, very secluded. Campsites are very private. Remember to bring your own water, and bring your own sanitizer. A note for bikers: at the time of writing this, the road from the CVT is quite bumpy. 2 in our group got flats. 4km off the trail, Google maps is misleading for the address listed.

We came in on Motorcycles with everything prearranged and easily found some excellent sites to pitch the tents. Connie was kind enough to give us water for our water bladder. The farm animals are abundant and gorgeous. That was a nice added bonus for us. Connie was an excellent host, happy to discuss the land and the animals. We will definitely go again, next time to go on some horse riding tours and to explore the Shawnigan area.

Cabin

Here is the Maple Farm Hip Camp add: Enjoy the comforts of home in nature at some pitches — including real toilets, showers, and kitchen Hot water . There is a very basic shower in the cabin. It works for a rinse off, but nothing fancy Cancellation policy: Flexible 2WD accessible Here is what we found on our trip: There was no hot water. I phoned the host who was next door, instead of coming over she gave directions to turn the valve on at the back of the tub for the water. I found the valve but the hot valve was on the right cold side, opposite to where it should have been. after discovering this turning it on the water went from cold to a little less cold. After trying a few times the water still didn't come hot. I played with the dial on the heater and when I tried to get a refund for the second night she said the water was my fault because I had switched the dial. She didn't acknowledge there wasn't hot water anywhere in the cabin. As above the add says HOT WATER. I couldn't spend 3 days and 2 nights in January without hot water. There was no cabin binder or written instructions for anything. and besides, if she knew we were coming wouldn't she want to turn the plumbing valve on at the back of the tub? The pull out couch mattress was thin, springs felt through and was brown with no sheets On app confirmed for 2 adults. Host provided towels and sheets for 1 and agued we had only booked for 1 With this and lot's more wrong, mostly a negligent, uncaring host.

Conny and her daughter are very welcoming and happy to share stories of their not always easy farm life. Yes the access road is rather long especially if you’re bike packing but it’s rewarded by very quiet stay in wilderness and you get to see a wild boar!!!

Secluded and simple

Pro: Campsite was nestled in nature, private and fern forest. I liked the site Cons: It was a long gravel road to access. There wasn't much to do on site and the entry was messy with a car top at the gate and we didn't see a lake and the bathroom had a destroyed piece of toilet paper (it was otherwise clean). There was the sound of a generator in the evening.

We LOVED all the farm animals and loved the big private camp sites. We were in camp site C but walked around and looked at all them and every single one is big and private, but camp site C is probably the best if you need a really big site.

Absolutely loved camping at Conny’s farm! We were at both site B and C. The sites were so beautiful, and Conny’s property was so much fun to explore and nothing beats waking up with a cup of coffee and walking down to visit the horses, donkey and one of a kind goat Pepe! Thank you so much Conny we’re for sure visiting again :)

Peaceful and secluded

Beautiful, peaceful area. Camp pitches are spaced far apart, so it doesn’t feel busy at all. Camp fires allowed. The ranch has horses, goats, and chickens to visit and interact with. They also offer horse riding and goat hikes. We’ll be back!

It was nice and private, but do keep in mind there's about a 4km drive of potholes and gravel of private property before you get to the camp. The owner was really nice and instruction were very detailed. Thank you for the stay!

Camping here was really nice and private. Campsites were nicely spaced and outhouses were clean. Beautiful property! The road to get there was a little rough and had tons of potholes so might be tricky with a smaller vehicle. Overall it was great and I’d definitely come back here again.

Distant access makes good privacy

I was hopeful to find a quiet and peaceful campsite just outside the city, but when arriving at the Maple Heart Ranch I realized it felt a little...remote to get there. After opening the heavy metal gate and following the host's instructions, we drove for several kilometres along an uneven trail scattered with potholes, stones, and low branches. This gravel driveway was a bit disappointing - be extra cautious when driving a low-clearance car that could bottom out when going above 10km/h. When arriving at the ranch, you are greeted by unusual signs that make you wonder if you indeed reached the right place, as I haven't seen those in other campgrounds. Apart from that, our 2-night stay was comfortable and serene in the middle of the woods as the campsites are spaced well apart. Site C was flat and spacious for setting up a tent. For the price though, it would be nice if other amenities like WiFi or running water were provided. Cell signal is good though and the host is very responsive with messages and directions.

What a lovely trip we had here. Amazing camp sites with trails all around to get lost on. Farm animals were awesome to visit and have around. We will be back. The lake isnt too far either which was a bonus.
