Lakeside Cabin at The Brewery
Unique location and amazing hosts
This place is a gem.
Our one-night stay was far too brief but we had such a fun time at this amazing cabin and brewery.
The hosts are amazing people and an awesome source of knowledge about the area - their welcome on our arrival was one of the best parts of our whole trip. Food at the brewery was tasty and the beer was lovely.
The lakefront cabin was comfortable, clean and cozy. It is well-built, lovingly maintained and perfectly decorated. Sleeping with the blinds open gives you an incredible view of the northern BC night sky alongside an incredible sunrise.
We can't wait to visit again!

Beautiful Getaway!
I loved the quietness and the privacy. We got to spend some good family time together.
Really felt like you were alone with nature but with everyday comforts of a bed, kitchen and running water. Also it is really sweet to have the brewery there. Love sampling them out and found a new favourite!!
Really a beautiful part of BC! Just be careful of the cows on the road.

Lakeside Cabin at The Brewery
A quiet, intimate family getaway
We stayed at the little red cabin at Little Bear Ranch for 3 nights with our two kids (12 and 14) and we absolutely loved it. The deep quiet, the beautiful lake and sky, the farm animals, the good beer and food, and the kind hosts all made this a truly memorable family getaway. Our kids loved the 1960s details of the cabin, and the fish were just jumping onto our lines when we took our rods down to the shore of Ootsa Lake (just a few steps from the cabin). We can't wait to come back!

Little Slice of Heaven
Wonderful people and a wonderful property. The cabin is authentically rustic and very comfortable. Hot water worked great and plenty of firewood for a campfire. We'll be back!

Lakeside Paradise Down Dusty Roads
Follow the brewery signs along scenic dirt roads with lake, dam, and mountain views, and one eventually arrives at the incredibly breath-taking Ursa Minor Brewery and Ranch.
Sitting alone on the shores of Lake Ootsa, Little Bear Ranch is a true slice of paradise, offering a plethora of activities including fishing, kayaking, swimming, wildlife viewing, hiking, and of course, beer tasting.
The small cabin is well equipped with everything one could need, with retro charm and a wood fireplace/oven/stove, as well as a gas grill. The showers are warm and more than welcome after having spent the last few days camping, as are the comfortable beds. It’s worth noting that there’s no wifi or cell reception, so prepare to disconnect during your stay.
Beyond the cabin, a small campground is under construction and is likely already open by the time you’re reading this. There’s a small number of spots for both trailers and tents, and a small boat launch as well.
Kayaks, life jackets, and fishing rods are begging to be used on the quiet lake, with a beer tasting (and BBQ meal on certain days of the week) to follow in the tasting room, or on the patio. A tour of the micro-brewery is also recommended for those interested.
Hosts Gwyn and Nathan are incredibly welcoming and happy to share stories and the history of the ranch/brewery. The only complaint you’ll have, is how hard it is to leave.
