We live one town over but were looking for a unique getaway that was a great environment for our family and boy did we find it!
The reviews about Steve and pupper Miguel were not lying. Steve’s passion for the land was infectious from the get-go. It’s a perfect example that you don’t have to go to a state park to have an awesome outdoor experience.
It is a proper farm and gardens, with chickens, ducks, herbs, fruits, veggies, lots of pretty things and a huge area with trails, arches, circles, etc. It’s a laid back atmosphere.
When a burn ban is not in effect, there is a communal fire pit. The communal kitchen is on the front of the cabin but most of the travelers are polite and used to working with others
The cabin is awesome and we will definitely be back to stay and cook for everyone. The bungalow is an extremely secluded, covered platform with walls and a screen. It has an area to store your stuff if you bring your own lock.
Don’t fade the add on experiences at the end of the booking, especially breakfast. We did all of the tours and workshops. Steve even delivered horseshoes and a 5 gallon jug of spring water to drink. Hes an incredible resource to anyone wanting to learn to be more self sufficient so utilize him as much as you can.
We’re non-conventional hip-campers in our 40s with two teenage boys and a 1 1/2 yr old girl and a camper. This worked for us because our boys are used to traveling and know how to behave around your typical hip campers. Leave no trace!
