Tyson Wells Enterprises in Quartzsite, Arizona, stands out as a unique destination for rock and gem enthusiasts, offering a vibrant marketplace that has been a cornerstone of the community since its inception in 1977. Founded by Lloyd and Lavoun Dyer, the enterprise began with an open lot that evolved into an R.V. Park, and in 1978, it launched the renowned Sell-A-Rama Show. Over the years, Tyson Wells has gained international recognition as a premier Rock & Gem Show in the United States. In 1995, Lavoun’s son, Kym Scott, took the reins of the business, bringing fresh energy and innovative ideas. A business major from Fresno State University, Kym expanded the enterprise significantly by acquiring additional land for parking and introducing two new shows: the Rock & Gem Show and the Art & Craft Fair. He also developed self-storage units, constructed two large buildings for indoor vendors, and established a new seasonal selling lot, along with a modern business office. The Tyson Wells Rock & Gem Show, held annually in early January for ten days, attracts rock, gem, and mineral vendors from around the globe.
