Welcome to Red Rock Roping! Where you will be a close 3 mile drive to old town Cave Creek restaurants, bars, and shopping strip. But far enough to enjoy a quiet and peaceful scenery of mountains, sunsets and sunrises. Don’t forget to kick your feet up, and end your night to enjoy a wide open view of the stars! Also, keep your eyes open for desert critters such as rattlesnakes, tarantulas, scorpions, deer, road runners, bob cats, and coyotes. We ask please do not pet, catch, feed or leave any food out that will attract them. Enjoy them from a picture away :) Our 2 accessible acres will give you 360 view of mountains, our Red Rock Roping arena, and a Saloon to gather under to enjoy cool refreshments, and a meal with your friends/family. Right outside our entrance going North on 80th Street you can hike over to the Grapevine Wash which is a short walk away from the Cave Creek Town Trail System for hiking and horseback riding, and if you’re adventurous you can hike up 2 miles of a 800’ climb on a gravel road/trails to “Mexican Hat” for an even more incredible view! We are a 30 amp full hook up (sewer, water & electrical) for 33’ RV’s and living quarters horse trailers. You will also have access to our community laundry area, with a large garbage can to dump a bag if needed. Some suggestions for town; Grab some quick delicous breakfast and coffee at Janey’s. Or American cuisine lunch at The Horny Toad, a Mexican cuisine dinner while watching the turtles in the pond at El Encanto! Ofrenda, right at the end of the road, also has great authentic Mexican cuisine. Many restaurants to choose from all within a short drive. Bashas, Safeway, Target, and Walmart and Sprouts are all within a 3-6 mile drive too! We have two turnout pens for horses. That are located right behind where you will park your trailer. They both have a cover that provides some shade, as well as running water. We do not provide any feed, so please make sure you bring some! We ask that you please do not feed any horses that do not belong to you. Or go into any pen that your horse is not in. For safety and respect :) Thank you in advance. (Horse turnouts are an extra $25 each/per night)

Mexican Hat site is a flat area, and in the middle of lot. Red signs with names to help find your spot. This site fits a 33' long, 18'-wide RV/trailer. 30 AMP, full hook up (water, electrical and sewer). *SEWER HOOK UP ON DRIVER SIDE and WATER AND ELECTRICAL HOOK UP WILL BE ON PASSENGER SIDE*. Bring your own hose, lines, and connections. Guests will have access to the Laundry Area, Saloon, and the barbecue that is down by the Saloon. (Please note: there may be another trailer(s) east and west of you). Parking vehicle(s): Please park your trailer then park vehicle along the North fence. Same for guest pulling vehicles please disconnect them and park the vehicle along the north fence, to make pulling in and out easier for others.

Mesquite Site is a flat area. This site fits a 33' long, 18' wide RV/trailer. It is outlined with bricks to help guide you into the spot. 30 AMP, full hook up (water, electrical and sewer). *HOOK UPS WILL BE ON DRIVER SIDE*. Bring your own hose, lines, and connections. Guests will have access to the Laundry Area, Saloon, and the barbecue that is down there. (Please note: there may be another trailer(s) to the west of you). This site is the closest to the exit/entrance of the property, as well as the walkway for horses to be turned out. Parking vehicle(s): Please park your trailer then park your vehicle along the North fence. Same with cars that are being pulled, please disconnect your car, and park it along the North Fence to make pulling in and out easier for others.

HORSE ONLY Turnout "A"

Barn · Sleeps 1
Horse Turnout "A", is about 100'x30x. With a cover about 12'x18' that provides some shade. There is accessible running water. Please bring your own feed. Entrance to this turnout is located kitty corner of the arena, and behind grey and black trailer parked west of property. You will have to go through two closed gates to enter this turnout. Keep in mind, that the turnouts share one fence between the two. (This site is ONLY for horses. RV/Trailer is not included in this) There is also an option to rent a turnout when you book a trailer site if you are looking to stay, it will be in "extras".

HORSE ONLY Turnout "B"

Horse Turnout "B", is about 60'x60'x30'. With a cover about 27'x12' that provides some shade. There is accessible running water. Please bring your own feed. Entrance to this turnout is located along our east fence of property. Keep in mind, that the turnouts share one fence between the two. (This site is ONLY for horses. RV/Trailer is not included in this) There is also an option to rent a turnout when you book a trailer site if you are looking to stay, it will be in "extras".

We found this place on a last minute whim and it was such a treat. Mel was very helpful and quick to respond to questions! They let us move to sites that were open to be in the shade (very sunny and hot). They had great amenities (clean bathroom and shower, shaded porch). The sunset and sunrise were beautiful! My son loved petting the horses.

This beautiful property is set on gorgeous desert hillside! Mel and family provide the basics of Rv hook-ups if needed, bathroom, shower and laundry in a relaxing environment. I have already recommended my cousins go visit the area and stay in Mel’s Casita.

Red Rock Roping is a great escape from the traffic and crowds of the Greater Phoenix area. We stayed 2 nights, in a very quiet upscale neighborhood. Enjoyed good food at the Horny Toad and Ofrenda. We drove into Scottsdale to tour Frank Lloyd Wrights desert studio Taliesin West. And hiked in Spur Cross Ranch preserve. Our host Mel was great about communicating, the sites are level, and the 2 other HipCampers were quiet but friendly. Great shared areas, clean bathroom, good showers and laundry. Would definitely stay again - thanks so much for hosting us.

Absolutely loved this place. The owners have gone above and beyond to accommodate campers. Gravel campsites, sewer, water, electric, a grill, bathroom with a shower and laundry facilities. They even have accommodations for horses. Unbelievable sunsets every night. So much better than an RV park. Absolutely would return.

This was our second visit to this site. Mel is a great host. She responds right away with answers to any questions. The Mountain View is beautiful. The hiking trail right near the property was a plus. I highly recommend this for a peaceful getaway. Full hook up where the icing on the cake!

Great location!! Had a fantastic visit and stayed a week on property. Very close to Cave Creek entertainment. Quiet and peaceful evenings. Laundry facilities were a plus!! Definitely recommend and plan to visit the next time I’m in town!

The ranch is very clean and well maintained. It is a safe and peaceful location with great views. Numerous hiking, running and biking trails within a short drive of the location. Mel was very responsive and I would definitely recommend staying at Red Rock Roping.

Great location and excellent host! The ranch is very clean and well maintained. It is a safe and peaceful location with great views. Numerous hiking, running and biking trails within a short drive of the location. Mel was very responsive. I would definitely recommend staying at Red Rock Roping.

Beautiful location and atmosphere on the ranch. Peaceful, secure, nice layout with hookups and areas to relax. Laundry area was a nice bonus. Mel was an excellent host with great communication. I would definitely stay again.

This is a very well-maintained camp site with a wonderful host. Very easy to find with easy set up. Beautiful view within close proximity to wildlife (deer, owls, coyotes, bunnies). Also walking distance to town - we took the 2.5 mile walk down a paved road with very little traffic to a local bar + restaurant with live music. Host communicates well. For a longer stay, the washer/dryer would come in handy. There was one other hipcamper couple onsite. Casual vibe but also enough room where we didn’t feel crowded.

Very comfortable. Great sunsets and sunrises. Quiet, with quick and easy access to the towns of both Carefree and Cave Creek. We went biking on the paved roads through the hills in the area, which has a rural neighborhood feel. Traffic was very light and slow and we felt safe while biking. Grounds have a horse ring and stables. Entire area very well maintained and clean. We extended our stay and included a spring baseball game, it was easy to get to the main arteries leading to Scottsdale and Phoenix. Mel was accessible, friendly and helpful. This was our 1st Hipcamp. It couldn’t have been better!

I had a had a great stay at Mel’s place! The property is beautiful with stunning views. Campsite was great, as were all the amenities. I loved watching Mel and her husband work their horses! It was a beautiful view and 10 minutes from downtown Carefree. The hookups were on the wrong side of the site, but it still worked out fine. Mel was very accommodating and we had a wonderful time.
