Located 10 miles west of the Chiricahua Mountains and Wilderness and nine miles from a well stocked country store, enjoy quiet camping in a shady orchard. With toilet, shower, laundry and other amenities, this is a beautiful place to access high country adventures, explore old west ghost towns, hand out and sing campfire songs, and/or share in healthy homestead produce!Tent under the trees near the Chiricahua mountains. Remote hiking locations including grasslands, canyons, oak forests mountains, and high country. Access to the ridge crest trail for easy hikes is about 25 miles from here. Seasonable goat milk and orchard produce. Well water, toilet, kitchen, shower available.

Desert Nocturne

Damon has more than 30 acres of desert at the end of the road. So it’s about as quiet as quiet gets. Damon is a working artist who is generous with his time and attentiveness to guests. It’s fascinating to see what he has built on his land over the 20 years he’s lived there. Camp can be pitched under trees in his front drive or most places out back. You’ll share Damon’s kitchen and bathroom if you’re not self contained, but he works and sleeps in other buildings. Altogether, a fascinating guy and place to meet and experience.

Interesting, Fun, & Remote SE AZ!

We enjoyed staying on Damon’s property. His location is perfect for dark sky camping and more. Damon is an interesting and very accommodating host. We were car camping, which worked out well, but for those of you who like tent camping, he has some cool areas set aside if you are interested in being off on your own. We were excited to learn we were his first hip campers. We loved learning more about the various structures he built, and continues to build, on his property with his own hands. If you are interested, and provided Damon has time, ask for a tour. Super unique off-the-grid, hipcamp experience. An awd/4wd is probably best for the dirt road driving in. Drive slowly as you get close to the property as the bushes may scratch your vehicle if you get too close.
