While the hosts were accommodating and the animals were so sweet to have around, I do not feel that the camping space is represented in their description honestly, nor accurately. My daughter and I were taken to our tent camping spot that was nestled in the corner between a wooden privacy fence with the other three sides being horse pens. In combination with the dust of the Arizona desert, our tent area was surrounded by winds that consistently delivered the smell of manure. And when the winds settled, the smells hovered. Flies were swarming all of our belongings and covered our car. I just don’t feel that calling this spot “Paradise” is anywhere accurate for the world I live in. While she did refund my second nights payment, it doesn’t get me back the “Paradise” camping experience I was hoping to share with my daughter after three long days of driving. Im hoping this review will save many from wasting their time and Money on such false advertising.

Julie and her husband were wonderful hosts! The property is fully fenced in and feels very safe. The campsite was comfortable and well setup, with a nice fire pit. Easy access to the toilet and shower in the tack room. Their dogs are extremely friendly and fun to have around and being right there with the horses was exactly what I was looking for.

My partner and I had a lovely time on Julie's land. It was perfect for what we were looking for and we enjoyed the dogs and farm animal friends, and the peaceful evenings. We also enjoyed being so close to the east side of Saguaro National Park - just a 15 minute drive to the trailhead we hiked from. The bathroom space was maintained nicely. I was actually able to log into work from the campsite, so the wifi was quite good for those who might want that. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend for others.

I felt welcomed and acommated for here. The hosts worked with me as I was having scheduling difficulties on my part and were nice to me but please be respectful of their time as I say onto you. I can tell they have a love for animals and work hard to maintain a peaceful space. It amplified my stay in Tuscon and found the area relaxing when coming back from where ever. I recommend checking out the bear canyon trailhead near this spot to get the full experience, but camping here was very nice. Since there are horses on site, it'll keep all matters of venomous critters away as they regularly move about, but the horses are very quiet at night so I was able to rest well. It's far enough from the city to hear the nature of the sanoran desert. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Julie's campground was clean and quaint, just what we needed after a long drive from Big Bend National Park. The tent pad was more than enough space for our two-person tent, the restroom facilities were clean, and our equine neighbors were quiet throughout the night. The coyotes kept us company with their songs, and watching the caretakers tend to the horses in the morning was wonderful. Julie's your best bet if you're looking for a comfy place to stay for the night with quick access to Saguaro National Park!

Beautiful and very peaceful camping spot. Beautiful views of the mountains, we love animals so this was amazing to be sleeping next to ponies and horses. Very clean bathroom facilities. Extremely safe. We loved playing with Mark and Julies’s dogs.

Mark and Julie’s property was great. They shared more than what was even expected of their property. We camped out near the horses and slept to sounds of owls and coyotes. Their dogs were also the best. The entire place was extremely clean. I’d absolutely recommend it to friends.

Awesome three night tent camping stay here. Check-in was fast, smooth and informative and host was super-friendly and hospitable.
I was staying here to hike Saguaro Nat’l Park-Rincon and Mt Lemmon so this was a perfect location, close to stores and restaurants as well.
My tent spot was next to three horse stalls so got to hang with the ponies; one a tiny horse. They did not disturb me during the day or night-it was nice to have them around.
This seems to be an active horse boarding facility so much work is being done but my spot was out of the way.
With free WiFi, a bathroom and shower available, 2 friendly dogs and horses all around this was a great deal for the price, would definitely stay again!

I stayed two nights and it was an overall positive experience. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The site had a hose for water, a designated tent space with gravel, a fire pit, and a picnic table. The bathroom was several hundred feet from the site. As mentioned in the description, the campsite was next to some horses and the owner's dogs came to visit. They were not a nuisance to me as I'm an animal lover.
As another camper mentioned, there was a security camera overlooking the site and the property owners were often nearby to care for the horses. I was fine with this but if you're hoping for more privacy, you'll need to make sure your tent provides that.
I added a firewood bundle to my accommodation; the host arranged the firewood from small to large, making it very easy to build the fire. They were generous and I had more than enough for a campfire on night 1 and then another the second morning. At one point, the host offered me a hand warmer.
I had a great experience and would return!

Mark and Julie were so kind and very helpful – their property is gorgeous and although it’s somewhat suburban (you can hear neighbors and road noise), it’s connected to nature and wildlife. I saw owls and coyotes in the campsite!! The access to hot water and a bathroom are also a big plus. I hate to say anything negative but the main issue for me was campsite privacy. The site is a working horse stable and as a result, people are coming and going all the time, tending to the animals – even into the evening and early in the morning. I felt a little uncomfortable. People I didn’t know were walking directly through the campsite to get to the stables. It made me feel out of place and in-the-way. If I had some feedback for Mark and Julie it would be to relocate the tent site to a more private part of the property, or at least instruct the horse riders to steer clear of the campsite when it’s occupied. I still enjoyed other aspects of my stay but this is something future campers should be aware of before booking.

This was our first HipCamp stay and we found it to be delightful! Nice pad to pitch a tent, picnic table, fire pit, water, shower, toilet, and boundaries for a dedicated space.
Book this place, and if you love horses book many nights at this place!

Our stay took a quick turn from idyllic to invasive and upsetting. While we appreciated the horses and surrounding wildlife, it was difficult to enjoy once we realized we were being watched without our knowledge or consent. On the second night of our stay, we noticed a camera pointed directly at our tent as well as several others scattered about the property. While we understand the need for security, to realize there was every likelihood we were being recorded without our knowledge was extremely upsetting. It is wildly inappropriate for a host to surveil their guests without a disclaimer or any acknowledgement of doing so. There is nothing on the listing that suggests there are security cameras and no one ever pointed them out to us during the multiple tours of the property we took. To be lulled into a false sense of security and belief that we had a modicum of privacy only to discover we were under constant watch was a huge shock to us. My partner was nearly hysterical when she realized she had been changing clothes inside the tent but in full view of the camera. We consider ourselves very reasonable and trusting people, and would have been understanding if anyone had cautioned us about the cameras, but to discover them on our own quite frankly ruined our entire stay. We’re taking this as a lesson to be more cautious and do a more thorough review during stays in the future, but if you plan to stay here, just be aware that you’re probably being watched.

Julie and Mark are great hosts and their land is beautiful. And the horses are fun to see. Make sure to bring ear plugs as the coyotes occasionally make some noise.

Very quiet campsite for being in Tucson. I liked the clean pebblestone area to pitch my tent. Nice view of the mountain range. Very close to Saguaro Natl. Park.

This is an idyllic spot with lovely hosts! They were welcoming upon arrival, shared about the area, and helped with firewood for a brief campfire. Would definitely come again… maybe for longer next time!

We loved Julie's campground and will visit agsin if I go to Tucson. Only one camp site and no other campers around us, quiet and privacy.

We loved our stay in Julie’s camper. It was close to family we were visiting, as well as Saguaro East and Sabino Canyon. We loved hearing the wildlife at night. They can be quite active! The wifi was fairly solid, but was intermittent at times. It was well equipped with pots and pans. Be sure to bring spices, salt and pepper, cooking oil, etc since those staples are not provided. Bring warm clothes for the “living room” area in the evenings. It can get cool at night in the larger room, and the space heater doesn’t quite keep up.

I had the best time camping here.! Julie and Mark were incredibly helpful and kind. I was able to get firewood from them and enjoy quite a few good meals. I even got to meet one of their beautiful horses, Sammy. I felt safe and secure, and the host was never too far if I needed help or had questions. Cannot wait to stay here again! Thanks Julie!:)

Julie and Mark were so friendly and kind! The camping spot is level and even has a campfire ring and picnic table. You get to be right next to the horses as well and get to meet their adorable dogs, who are very sweet. 15 minute drive to the eastern portion of Saguaro; feels somewhat remote but is extremely close to several grocery stories and restaurants.

Camping on Julie's land was a great experience. Julie and Mark were wonderfully attentive hosts, the view of the mountains was beautiful, and the horses nearby were so fun to watch in the evenings. It was a perfect home base to explore the beauty of the surrounding parks. Just a short driving distance to Saguaro National Park, Coronado National Forest, Pusch Ridge Wilderness, Catalina State Park, Mt. Lemmon and others. I would highly recommend staying here.

We had such a magical time camping amongst the horses at this Hipcamp. The hosts are so welcoming and caring. The meticulously kept flush toilet, hot shower, fire pit, tent pad, and picnic table were all welcome amenities. It was really fun to witness the boarded horses served their nightly meal and each getting their time in the ring.
Tip for Hipcampers: This is a working horse boarding property, if the sounds and occasional smells of working stables are unfamiliar to you, this may not be the spot for you. If you are familiar you're going to have an incredible time. As someone who grew up around horses, I can't wait to come back and stay again!

The tent spot, despite its very close proximity to the horses, was immaculate. Nice, clean and level gravel base with potable water and a picnic bench. The facilities were rather accommodating as well--hot shower, clean bathroom. Would stay again.

Beautiful camp spot! The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. It is definitely a working farm so if the sounds and smells of animals bother you, maybe not for you but my boyfriend and I really enjoyed it. We got to listen to packs of coyotes howl at night and the horses were amazing to interact with. It’s is a quick drive to food and shops and of course not too far from Saguaro NP!

Julian Mark were the most amazing hosts. They accepted us last (I'm talking like 5:00 p.m. the day of) and welcomed us with warm smiles. They provided us with everything that we could possibly need and then some more. We were blessed to have our last morning there be on Easter Sunday and Julie surprised us with some homemade scones. 10/10 would recommend, and I will be staying here every time I come back to Tucson. There there are some horse neighbors across the fence and rooster that likes to crow at 5:00 a.m. but that didn't bother me at all.

Very quiet spot in the back of their property up against an open area. The horses were great, the coyotes were fun to listen to as they held in the evening, the rooster next-door made sure I got a good start on the day.
