I loved camping in the cob mushroom!! Leslie was such a kind camp host! She even helped me plan my bike route to the next stop on my trip and shared grapefruit from her neighbor’s tree. The showers are hot and very clean! This is an incredible place to stay and I’d definitely come back if I have the opportunity!

I spent five nights in Adobe while in the Tucson area. My entire experience at Camp Saguaro exceeded my expectations. Adobe is a delightful casita embodied with love and artistic flair. The entire campground is wonderful as well. The hosts are friendly, attentive, and helpful. Access to nearby parks is excellent and scenic. The mercantile is adorned with work by local artists. I will not hesitate to stay there again the next time I travel to Tucson.

Camp Saguaro is absolutely delightful. The shower is majestic after a journey or two, and the water and laundry make this great stop-off for any boondocking. Kim and Michelle were fantastic hosts and you can’t beat the location. Each spot is uniquely awesome and we can’t wait to come back.

Hospitality, Character of sites, quiet and somewhat quaint spaces, and small size makes for a very relaxing visit. Small store with artsy hand made items is unique. Right adjacent to the Natural Forest with birds, rabbits, coyotes wandering by.

I want to gatekeep because this place is so good. Not just the Magical Mushroom, but the entire campgrounds. I stayed warm and dry despite the rain. I could probably write a essay about how great this place and Michelle and Kim are. I will be back.

Tent or Adobe Camping?

I tent camped the first night and slept in the Adobe the second night at Saguaro camp. Beautiful campground and the closest + most convenient place to stay by Saguaro National Park (no camping in the park). Plus, it was super affordable at $39/ night for the tent camping and $50 plus fees for the Adobe. Best place to stay if you are trying to see sunset and sunrise in the park! The desert comes ALIVE at night so lots of animal noise at night while tent camping (no issues but did keep me awake). Would highly recommend the Adobe if you are a light sleeper.

The campsites were well maintained and the property had plenty of charm at each major location! The bathrooms were well maintained. The community areas were fun and easy to navigate! The camp hosts are absolutely lovely! I am planning on bringing my family back in the near future! 10/10 would recommend.

Entire campground was great and the mushroom stay was awesome. We comfortably fit a full size air mattress and our backpacks. Such a unique space! Washrooms were clean, hosts had great communication and only minutes into West Saguaro. Will definitely be back to stay again.

Camp Saguaro - one of our favorite!

We loved our stay at Camp Saguaro so much that we added an extra day to our booking - and would’ve stayed longer if we could (work called us back the next day). The owners and hosts are genuinely incredible: friendly, welcoming, and truly care that you’re having a great time. You can tell they’ve known each other for years and have a ton of experience hosting camps around the US - the care and craft they put into this place really shows. They’ve transformed the land in such a thoughtful, respectful way. If you’re lucky, you’ll hear the hilarious (and honestly touching) stories of what they bought vs. what they built and restored, reusing materials whenever possible. We stayed at Javelina Hallow and loved it. It’s tucked away among desert plants with plenty of space for a tent and shelter. The site includes a table, small light, two chairs, and a fire basin. All sites are a short walk along a gravel path to the common area and bathrooms/showers. The bathrooms were great (hot water + soap at the sinks). The shower spaces were clean and roomy, with a shower seat, and a curtain separating the shower and changing area. There’s also a dishwashing sink with hot/cold potable water. The charging station was a super helpful touch for topping off lights and gear. The common area is adorable too - giant pig fire bin, seating for community fires, and games like cornhole. The vibe here is truly special. If you’re in the area, stay here - it’s one of our favorite campgrounds ever.

Camp Saguaro was a lovely place to spend a few nights. The showers, toilets, and dish washing station were all very nice, clean, and convenient. The location is also great—we biked from the campground to the national park. I would definitely stay here again if we’re back in Tucson, and would recommend it above the nearby AZ campgrounds (like Gilbert Ray).

At some point during our stay, I told my wife, “this is the kind of place you build a vacation around.” We are indeed already planning a future camping trip, which will include a stay at Camp Saguaro. Here’s what makes it so special: Owners and hosts were all friendly and seemed genuinely pleased to be there Our individual site was roomy and picturesque, with many beautiful desert plants to admire Cleanest camping bathroom I’ve ever seen We didn’t use the showers, but all the hipcamp reviews rave about them (and the hot water) Just minutes from the entrance and visitor center for the western side of Saguaro National Park Star filled nighttime sky It’s easy to see that a lot of thought, care, and even love has gone into this campground. We just left yesterday and I’m already counting the days to go back.

I truly can’t not say a single negative thing or anything even slightly off about my experience here! The campsite itself is perfectly organized, making each site feel so private. The shared facilities were perfect, large kitchen sink and counters for washing dishes, two bathroom sinks for washing hands/getting ready, 2 shower stalls with HOT water (self-control temp ofc), and 2 toilet stalls. Perfect! Also, this is your sign to bring cash! 💵 The mercantile is adorable, with locally crafted goods and freshly baked delicious sourdough. The team who runs this place is so nice, you’ll likely see them and their new family member 🐾 walking around the campsite. Honestly, this place is 10/10 - and it’s a short drive to the (West) Saguaro Nat Park 🌵 where you can hike or visit the museum.

Camp Saguaro is a true gem - quiet, beautiful, clean, and fun. Kim, Michelle and the whole crew are wonderful. The local artwork in the Mercantile is fantastic and they have anything you may have forgotten to pack as well. The sunset views and stars at night are so beautiful 😍 The location is great for the national park, desert museum, etc! We have tried most of the sites here and love them all, but the Magical Mushroom holds a special place in our hearts. So many wonderful memories here - we look forward to coming back every year!

We loved staying at Camp Saguaro while visiting the Tucson area! Proximity to Saguaro National Park, clean bathrooms, free hot showers, excellent laundry facilities, the mercantile, and friendly camp hosts all make this spot a winner! Saw quail walking about, heard the coyotes at night. Great experience overall!!

I absolutely loved Camp saguaro and would come back again in a heartbeat. The amenities were fabulous and the fact that I could do my laundry was such a bonus. The Mercantile shop was adorable and the camp hosts were so friendly and kind.

Lovey Dovey

I loved my stay here! Charming, super clean, and the amenities are super cool. We rolled in later in the day and had no trouble finding out sight thanks to the lit up path and instructions given by host. Secluded but didn’t feel unsafe at all- and definitely loved being able to have a campfire too. I can’t wait to come back again
