Nearly five acres surrounded by pristine Alaska-state land, and within short trekking distance of the famous Nenana river. Toghotthele mountain stands nearby, with some impressive hiking trails to be explored! The Tanana River is in short driving distance (3 miles) of the Coop Camp, as is shopping, a cultural museum and historical centers.Have a true Alaskan experience as you cozy up in this tiny cabin with a view of "The Big One." You'll be a stone's throw from the iconic Nenana river and famous Alaska Railroad, with plenty of opportunity for moose sighting. Located an hour (55mi) south of Fairbanks and an hour (60mi) north of Denali National Park and Preserve.There is a full kitchen; refrigerator, gas range, microwave oven, coffee pot, and a water kettle. This cabin is in a very quiet location with views of Denali. This cabin has been recently renovated as our cozy guest house with 325 ft² of living space, as we have just finished working to complete construction of a separate family home. Our cabin space is a perfect blend of modern design and amenities, and Alaskan rustic elegance. It is conveniently located in Nenana, directly between Fairbanks and Denali National Park and Preserve.  For those hoping to get the quintessential Alaska experience, our cabin is perfectly situated on 5 acres of privately owned land surrounded by Alaska State Land. From the deck, you will be able to watch the famous Alaska Railroad pass by on the horizon. On quiet evenings, you can hear the wood frogs in the tundra and watch birds from the cabin deck, often seeing and hearing sand hill cranes, trumpeter swans, ptarmigan, loons, eagles, owls and robins, surrounded by miles of wilderness and nature. Our cabin is at the end of the road, away from chaos, providing excellent privacy. As guests, you'll have private access to the entire cabin for the duration of your stay. You will have your own slice of heaven with beautiful Alaskan views and a comfortable patio to enjoy. Many residents of Alaska choose to live full time in a dry cabin, a cabin without running water. Our outhouse is comfortable, heated, and clean. Purified water is provided for hand washing and cooking. Gray water is collected under the sink and must be emptied by guests. There is a seasonal, heated outdoor shower.

The Coop Camp
Great outhouse but no light or window to let in sunlight. We left a little battery powered lamp behind for any future guests to use. The spot was mostly quiet except for being able to hear the owner talking on the phone inside his house after 10 pm. There was zero shade so make sure you have something to sit under in case the weather is hot & sunny. The firepit was great and the chairs awesome to lounge in. The view was mediocre but a very short distance from Nenana and about an hour from Denali. Overall great place to camp.

The Coop Cabin
We have stayed in quite a few hipcamps/ rustic lodgings and The Coop Cabin was by far the best! The heated composting toilet and heated outdoor shower were awesome! Hannah was super helpful and quickly responded any time we needed anything and gave us some great Fairbanks recommendations! We enjoyed multiple sunsets on the deck and even had a fire one night! We could also see Denali from the deck one morning!

Clean, little cabin. Had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. 1hr from the park. Eric was very responsive.

Perfect cabin in the Denali area!
The Coop Cabin
The Coop Cabin is a perfect glamping site in the Denali area! While it is close to the main house, we still felt like we were in our own little oasis. The decor is spot on without being too kitchy. We had dinner on the porch with the gas fire overlooking the gorgeous valley, picked ripe raspberries, and played games inside (provided!). The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, and they provide coffee, tea, snacks and condiments. Everything is very clearly articulated in the welcome email, including how to use the outdoor heated shower and the outhouse (with heated seat!). Was a really hot day when we were there and the tiny cabin heated up quickly, but with the windows open and the fan on it was comfortable. We could see how it would be super cozy in the winter.

Adorable cabin and fantastic hosts!
The Coop Cabin
Eric was very helpful in accommodating us late night, last minute after our plans changed. The cabin was so cute and even better than described. Everything was clean, comfortable and well stocked. We slept downstairs on the trundle bed and it worked well for us. My husband had never used an outhouse before and was skeptical, but ended up laughing about it. Very quiet location but easy to find and access from the highway. The view was amazing and we wish we could have stayed longer to try the fire pit and outdoor shower.

A Trip To Remember
The Coop Cabin
It is so very hard to put into words, my experience here at the Coop Cabin. I was looking for a place that was conveniently located outside of Fairbanks, solitude and just a place to relax and enjoy the nature of Alaska. This was everything I was looking for. The cabin is well maintained. The scenery was breathtaking. It is conveniently located near Denali also. If you are thinking about a trip to Alaska, JUST DO IT... This cabin and its location will NOT disappoint. Eric was very responsive to any questions that I had. This is one place I will always remember. Thank you, Eric!

You won’t regret staying at Coop!
The Coop Cabin
We had an amazing experience staying at the Coop Cabin! Everything was clean and comfortable. The outhouse was well-heated and clean. The cabin is located with great access to Denali, and the scenery is beautiful! Eric was a great host and was very responsive and ready to answer questions and provide suggestions. This was a perfect spot to spend our first trip to Alaska—we are already planning our trip back!

Absolutley Perfect Experience
The Coop Cabin
The Coop Cabin was an incredible find. It was cozy, very clean, and surround by beautiful and peaceful natural scenery. Eric and Hannah were awesome hosts, very attentive, and offered many suggestions, tips, and info regarding Denali, the northern lights, and animals in the area. While at the cabin we were visited by a huge great horned owl, very cool to see. On nights with clear skies and aurora activity the northern lights hovered right over the cabin, very vibrant and intense, nothing short of magical. Clear mornings you can see Denali from the cabin porch. Best cabin ever, I highly recommend a stay here.

2nd visit just as good!
The Coop Cabin
Had a wonderful time and the hosts were so kind and remembered me from a previous visit 5+ months ago. They also offered a wakeup call in case they saw northern lights got more active.

Very nice quiet place. Amazing views. Property is well-maintained and the host, Eric, is very helpful. He even advised us on some of the must see and try places in town. We really had a good experience.

Nice area to see Denali from afar
The Coop Camp
Eric was very helpful and friendly. Their fire pit and outhouse were nice touches. He was kind enough to send coordinates for a fishing spot. The cherry on top was seeing Denali bright and clear when we woke up!

Eric and his family were such lovely hosts! We loved our stay at the cabin and hope to come back next year. The cabin was on the perfect location for day trips to Denali and Fairbanks and the land itself was gorgeous. Already recommending to friends!

A Cabin to Disconnect from Rush
The Coop Cabin
The way the cabin is kept tidy immediately invites you and grounds you. Be sure to check university of Alaska’s auroral activity forecast to be here at the right time! (We didn’t) For those of you that travel like we did without cross checking the auroral activity forecast, the sunrise will try to make it up to you with a far view of the Denali. Come and unwind!

Eric and Hannah blew our expectations out of the water. Every detail was amazing. We got to see the northern lights too! The cabin and it’s hosts were more than accommodating. I would highly recommend staying here (:

We had the most wonderful time at this cabin! The cabin is so cozy, clean, and comfortable! It was so well designed -we enjoyed noticing the various features. The view is amazing! We had a clear day and were able to see a moose, the Northern Lights, and Denali from the cabin. And our hosts were so friendly and helpful!

Spacious and gracious!
The Coop Camp
This was my husband’s and I first experience with hip camp, and it was a positive one! Eric was a lovely host. Very friendly and super informative about Denali nation park and near by attractions. The outhouse was spotless and actually very comfortable. The site is spacious with plenty of room, a picnic table and a large fire pit. Due to the season their was a lot of mosquitoes, but Eric provided a citronella candle. The view was spectacular (we were able to see Denali in the morning) If you are traveling between Denali and Fairbanks and want a spacious campsite and gracious host check this one out!

What a wonderful host and family! We camped on our truck but they have wonderful yard, a fire pit and picnic table. No reason to stay in a crowded campground in Fairbanks, get out and day here. Oh and they have ABSOLUTELY the cutest outhouse that exists!
