Seaside Farm is a 30 acre, magical, park like farm on the shores of Kachemak Bay, just outside of Homer, a few miles down from the Kilcher Homestead where I grew up in the 1940's! . Now a song bird sanctuary, with trails, lawns, gardens, trees, hay fields, and a private beach, cabins, a clover camping meadow, Seaside was once part of an original Alaska pioneer homestead.
It is also the home of hundreds of songbirds, moose, coyotes, wild hares, flocks of sandhill cranes, two sweet Morgan Horses, an assortment of chickens and visitors seeking peace, nature, wildlife, pristine beaches, in a real Alaska, non touristy setting.
This property has three different types accommodations: Rustic, cozy cabins, a big field for tent campers, and a few spaces reserved for 4 wheel drive vans, and small vehicle camping, including rooftop tents
If you prefer camping away from the tourist crowds, you will find our soft clover meadows and well kept lawns, a deluxe and memorable experience. The beach is a short walk down the trail, where its peaceful and private, with only the sound of the seagulls and waves. Van campers have a few special areas to park their vehicles, with views of the glaciers and mountains. There is limited parking and turnaround space, and we like our farm not too crowded, to provide a special rural experience to all who visit. It helps to call or text before you arrive to make sure we are on site and can help you with parking!
There are three cabins sprinkled throughout the property. Two are off grid, close to the beach, private and magical, with wood stoves. All cabins are able to use the main farm lodge amenities, just a few minutes walk away but have their own outhouses, all with amazing views!
You can walk on the beach from the main lodge parking area, there is a covered camping pavilion available to all guests, a communal campfire spot and bbq grill, lovely maintained walking trails and meadows, and even wifi!
We allow most dogs, but ask you to contact us before booking with us, so we can let you know our rules before you travel. All dogs must be well behaved, social, on leashes and at owner's side at all times to protect our trusting wildlife from accidental harm, like our baby pheasants, moose, bunnies, and songbird nests!

A charming, glamping style, off grid, tiny beach house, with picture windows, tucked away on a secluded knoll in the woods above the beach, accessible by trail about 5 minutes from the parking area,

Seaside Farm offers a blend of peaceful nature and rustic charm, making it a favorite retreat for campers. Visitors appreciate the serene setting with stunning views, easy beach access, and the quirky character of the host. While most guests found the accommodations cozy and the atmosphere rejuvenating, a few noted the need for more cleanliness in certain cabins. Overall, it’s a well-loved spot for those looking to enjoy the beauty of Homer and the surrounding nature.
Seaside Farm was the most magical place I’ve ever been. The views and sounds of the ocean brought me so much peace, and the cabin was so cozy! I will forever remember our candle lit nights and mornings on the porch listening to the birds. My only regret is we couldn’t stay longer. I hope to be back soon!
Awesome camping space with covered shelter! I would definitely stay again. The electricity and wash station were a nice addition to this camping space. Loved going down to the beach too. Roosters will crow early but earplugs worked great for this.
Cute little Alaskan cabin with Sandhill Cranes in the meadow. Peaceful, quiet, lovely porch, nice walks at the Farm. Closer than I thought it would be to amenities and bigger than I thought it would be. My friend and I had plenty of space sharing it over a rainy weekend. I hope I can visit again with my daughter.
Host is friendly and helpful and has recommendations for local businesses.
Cozy cabin overlooking the glacier, with a comfortable public space for cooking and showers. The provided carts were super helpful to move our luggage, and Mossy is a true Alaskan character. Highly recommended if you’re coming to Homer.
The perfect place for a picturesque Homer visit! The farm is so welcoming and everyone was super friendly. Having the option of indoor plumbing was lovely but the outhouses were perfectly fine. This has been on my list to visit for a couple of years and I’m so glad I got the opportunity. There are so many options from car camping, a beautiful meadow for tent camping, or the cutest cabins ever designed, that it was hard to choose an adventure! We ended up staying in the Wildflower cabin and it was such a great experience I can’t wait to visit again and try the other sites!
We had an amazing stay! The cabin is so cozy with the little wood stove for extra heat. Views were incredible and we loved our stay on the property. Host was amazing super helpful and very kind. Will totally stay again if we go back to Homer.
The cabin is in a beautiful, peaceful location. The cabin itself is dusty and cluttered. Not many places to hang/dry gear. It feels like it needs a deep clean. That being said, we did sleep well there. The sheets were clean.
Mossy is amazing! We brought a group of teenage girls here and she everyone was so welcoming and sweet! Would go again and again if we could! 10/10 highly recommend!
Not to mention the view was out of this world spectacular!
Our stay in the Wildflower cottage at Seaside Farm was the perfect ending to our magical week in Alaska. The farm is right on the bay, with stunning views in an idyllic setting. The small cottage had everything that we needed, and I slept wonderfully in the loft bed.
Seaside Farm is a great place to stay while exploring Homer and the surrounding area. I would definitely go back and stay longer next time.
Beautiful property! Great host- thanks Mossy! We stayed there for 2 nights in our campervan. It was great to have a trail to walk down to the beach, and such great views across the bay. This was a really great alternative to the crowded, windy campgrounds along the spit. We will stay here again.
I really enjoyed staying in the Wildflower cabin. The property is beautiful, well-maintained and the views of Kachemak Bay are stunning! The Wildflower Cabin in very close to parking and the lodge and a nice easy walk to the beach, what a bonus!
The most beautiful cabin I have ever stayed in! Views across the water are incredible, farm is so peaceful and lovely, waking up to birdsong and being visited by a moose and her babies at night. Mossy is a wonderful host. Hope I get to return at some point and bring loved ones!
Seaside Farm is one of the most beautiful places we have camped. Wildlife is abundant and the trail down to the beach is amazing. The horses and chickens are also an added bonus. Mairiis and her family were amazing hosts and overall great people, and we hope to stay again in the future.
Loved staying at this little cabin! Got to see so much wildlife and it made the perfect home base for exploring Homer. The property was absolutely stunning and having the beach so close too was wonderful!
Seaside Farms was a cute rustic spot and we're absolutely going to be heading back! Our hideaway cabin was so cute and the views and vibers we're immaculate!
We have stayed on this property numerous times and highly recommend it. You get to camp in a huge field of luscious green grass with an AMAZING view of the bay, mountains and glaciers. Their outdoor kitchen with electricity and sink is super convenient and Mairiis is a great host. You will not be disappointed!
We camper-vanned (there are cabins too as well as places for tent-camping). Fantastic everything. Incredible views. Peaceful. Bird Sanctuary. Sandhill Cranes flying over in the evening against the backdrop of the Bay and mountain range. Hostess is super friendly. Would stay there every time we ever find ourselves in Homer. Just 5 miles to town if we needed anything but far away from the tourist stuff. Six stars. :)
Seaside Farm is an amazing location. Very close to Homer and The Spit. Incredible views and beach. Mairii is a delightful woman. I loved all the special touches and the wildlife.💖
