Glacier View RV & Diner
Fabulous for 4th of July
What a unique experience! We stayed at Glacier view in our ‘86 Vanagon Westfalia for their epic Fourth of July celebration featuring the infamous car launch (a must do!!!). While we can’t speak to the “typical” stay, we had a spot basically in their parking lot with full hookups. Restrooms are available inside the diner/store during open hours, and then there is a port-o-potty through the trees for all other times. We didn’t have a fire ring or picnic table as was advertised, however that may have been due to the event. We were able to make a fire pit out of rocks and they had firewood available for $10 at the store. Food is available (ice cream, brisket + pizza) but we found it kinda expensive for what it was, so either come prepared or it’s your only option in the area. Do check out the Bee Store across the street for a honey and mead tasting! Guaranteed you’ll walk out with something tasty. Our RV neighbors did the on-site zip line and they highly recommended, and you are in the perfect location to go on a guided trek on the Matenuska Glacier, rafting down the river, or hiking the numerous trails in the area.
