PRIVATE single-site campground located 14.6 miles outside Soldotna, near the world-famous Kenai River. This peaceful, wooded 1.5-acre retreat sits along Funny River Road on the Kenai Peninsula. Just 3 miles from Bird Homestead Golf Course and minutes from prime salmon fishing on the Kenai River and Browns Lake, it offers convenient access to excellent outdoor recreation while remaining immersed in the Alaskan wilderness. The spacious, non-shared site accommodates motorhomes, RVs, and tents, with ample parking. Enjoy a fire pit, picnic table, and the tranquil sounds of a gentle creek at the back of the property (when flowing). A quiet, secluded base for exploring the region, this site is a sister property to Birchwood Campground in Kasilof, AK. We look forward to welcoming you to this hidden gem!Private, single-site non shared campground! Feel free to forage the grounds for firewood that is already on the ground, or use what is stacked around the camp site. If you are interested in cutting firewood, please only take standing dead trees.

I love the big space for parking, setting up a volleyball net, and the tents for a big family of 14. It was quiet and surrounded with nature. We were provided wood, trash bags, lighters, bug candle, and a cute interactive notebook. My whole family loved it. There was also a lake 8 minutes away and it’s a perfect spot for a nature getaway!

Clean spacious and fairly quiet. No neighbors, it is a little out of town but worth it if you have a small party that doesn’t want all of the racket from dip betters going until all hours of the night. Met the owner on previous trip, excellent human being. Communication is excellent and campsite is well maintained. We will be back again for sure.

Birchwood Campground #2 is great! The site is very private with good tree cover. We loved the nice firepit and plenty of firewood available. The picnic table is new. It's only about 15 mins outside town with a beautiful scenic drive.
