Great spot in nature, cozy tent which kept us nice and dry when it stormed. The host’s home is visible which wasn’t a problem, but worth noting. Love that it was well stocked, we had a lovely stay and would come back. Thank you!

We loved this camping trip. The hosts were so informative and you could tell they put a lot of thought and work into the campsite. We loved that there was access to the creek and so many cool hikes around with waterfalls. It felt so private and was a camping trip we will always remember.

I truly enjoyed my stay! Everything was clean and additional supplies were available (cooking utensils, lanterns, etc). The area was quiet. I really enjoyed the creek, which was a very short distance from the tent. I would stay there again.

This was mine and my husbands first time glamping. It was awesome. Right next to the creek, fire out, hammock, cooking utensils and pans. There was a nice spot next to the creek to sit. We brought our dog and had a great time. You have quite a bit of privacy with only one home directly next to you. The 2 heaters (1 wood, 1 gas) was a perfect edition for the winter. Thomas came and brought us another propane tank when we needed it and made our sleeping comfy. If you like the outdoors with a little more comfort, especially in the winter, this is the place to go. They also have WiFi, we didn’t use it much but it had good service. The tent felt like one from Harry Potter. Great trip.

We had a great weekend taking our toddler on her first camping trip. Both her and our dogs LOVED the creek for playing and fishing. It was set up to include everything we needed—water, pans, utensils, etc. It was perfect. Thanks for a great time!

Absolute perfect weekend getaway. Don't need anything but clothes, food, (maybe extra D batteries for the fan) and linens.
Easy to find. Minutes from Mentone Market. I was skeptical of the water but it's rock bottom not sand so even that was perfect!

It was such a great experience! It was private, relaxing, quiet, beautiful, romantic and all the above! Everything we needed was there, all u need is ur cloths and food. It was perfect, my husband and I talked, and laughed, all night till the sun came up. Great times, it was just what we needed some much needed us time!

My family has had a great couple of nights here. We enjoyed our stay. Everything needed for a good time camping was provided. Views were great and the host was very accommodating. We came during the middle of the week and unfortunately there was construction at the property right next to us, so we were woken up early with sounds of hammers and air compressors. Also just FYI there are also train sounds nearby.
The site was perfect with those exceptions. Ample firewood was supplied and we had great fires outside. We didn't really use the heater or wood stove because we fit 3 cots in addition to the bed already there. Our kids had a good time.
We would love to come back in the summer when it would be warm enough to swim.

We had a great time and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to getaway for a weekend for even just a night . Best thing I liked about was no cell service. lol . Nah, that was just a bonus . Lol The property was awesome and it sits along side a beautiful creek too . It’s very secluded and was exactly what we were looking for in our first glamorous camping trip . Lol The owners had everything setup for us when we arrived and provided basically everything we needed. Just pack some food and drinks and you’ll be all set . We’ll definitely try to do this again in near future.

This campsite has it all. We brought our usual camping gear but if we had only brought food we would have been all set! Tommy and Kelly truly put a ton of thought and detail into this space, from the firewood available to the actual queen bed inside of the tent. The river was low, like all of the rivers around Mentone right now, but it was beautiful nonetheless, especially with the foliage surrounding the tent. We would recommend this camp to anyone wanting a break from every day life. (We loved the lack of cell service!)

Was very disappointed. There was hardly a creek definitely not like the pics on website. Left 4 days early because of dogs at one of the house barked all day and night. Was a anniversary present surprise for husband super disappointed. Thumbs 👍 up beautiful spot very clean.

The Yurt was super cute, the land was amazing! It was my first solo camping trip and they definitely provided everything I needed. It was more than what I expected. SO peaceful and exactly what I needed to get away from the city! Would definitely go again and I highly reccomend.😊

First time in a bell tent and it was great! A short storm rolled through and it was amazing to be able to hang out comfortably in the tent for a couple of hours. The bed was comfy, there was surprisingly little poison ivy around, and the creek water was cool (though it would have been nice if it was deep enough to really swim). I would love to go back and would definitely recommend this site to anyone who loves spending a little time outside.

Everything was exactly as described and there was even more there that wasn’t advertised. Though it’s warming up, the bugs weren’t a bother at all and we were able to enjoy being outside. The tent was very spacious and bed was very comfortable. Everything you need is there for a weekend.

It was great to find a place so last minute and the tent held up admirably to the rain. I had a bit of a hard time with the little stove (because I’m bad at making fires) but the little buddy heater was more than sufficient. The woods were quiet and clean and the river was clear and proud. I’d love to come back in the summer to do some swimming.

Such a beautiful and quiet getaway! This place is gorgeous and the host graciously sets you up with just about everything you could need. There is a binder that basically covers any questions you could have about the spot and the surrounding area. Wish we had more time to check out a number of the other local attractions mentioned in the binder. Would gladly stay again if we were in the area! The tent kept us dry, warm and feeling safe from the thunder and lightning storm we had last night and provided a great view.

The accommodations are abundant, the location is perfect for those seeking to explore all Mentone has to offer. The site itself offers everything you could possibly need minus starter logs and paper towels. Me and my SO enjoyed our time there. Works visit again!!!!

This is such a quiet and secluded place. The Mr Buddy heater keeps you plenty warm at night. The sound of the creek (and possibly some playful beavers) can be heard from the tent site. A rainstorm lulled us to sleep on the second night while we stayed warm and dry. A five minute drive from mentone’s log cabin village and the mentone market that has some great pizza! We can’t wait to come back in the summer to play in the creek.

What an AMAZING experience at Cynefin at Forklore Forest. We had the pleasure of staying during the beaver blood full moon lunar eclipse surrounded by peaceful, isolated forest full of beavers, deer, turkeys, birds, and more. The canvas tent was very homey, clean, and stocked with pretty much anything you needed. You can tell a lot of time and thought was put into this delightfully sweet place. Thank you!

Great little spot on the river. The tent was small but enough space for 2 people and the bed was very comfortable. The toilet and shower set up was an added bonus! Thomas had everything we needed for a last minute weekend away, all you need to bring is sheets and food! Felt very secluded while still having easy access to town for forgotten items.

I have stayed at several Hipcamps, and this is by far my favorite. Thomas put so much thought and effort into providing all the comforts one would need. Such a great place to escape from the city and relax!

We stayed 2 nights and absolutely loved it here! Thomas and Kelly have a well-kept and beautiful campsite prepared with all the basics you could possibly need to allow for a stress-free camping experience. The owners were friendly and responsive with all the answers to our questions, plus extra tips to help prepare. Having the river so close by was a LUXURY, especially when you’re in need of additional water. We didn’t bother with the wood stoves, but we almost immediately ran out of firewood the first night when we tried to use the provided ones for a fire pit. So if you have a portable gas stove and butane cans, bring them!!
Even though there are some trails, there is not too much to explore outside of the campsite. Bring plenty of portable lighting, as it gets pitch black without it. The outside string lights will light up, but will die out quickly once it gets pitch black (the solar panel for these lights are placed in a shaded area). The string lights inside the tent were beautiful and perfectly warm lighting for the night. On the first night, we found the batteries to these lights were dead, but were able to find fresh batteries the next day. Having extra batteries will come in handy!
Once we got the hang of everything the first night, everything was so much easier to navigate. We were thrilled our first camping experience was with Cynefin at Folklore Forest and we are so looking forward to coming back again!!

Cynefin at Folklore Forest
Cynefin was a lovely, private, wooded respite. Thomas was responsive to the questions that I had in advance as well as providing a lovely list of things in the area to do of which there are many. It's a cute town with lots of makers selling their wears and in close to proximity to an adorable market and other fun activities. Any instructions for the campsite we might have needed were provided in a great welcome binder. The site and tent were nicely maintained and stocked with all the kitchen supplies and some extras that we might need. Oh! and the bed was really comfy :)
We loved sitting in the river and watching our dogs explore. In general, it was fantastic to relax and enjoy the tranquility and sights and sounds of nature surrounding us. We hope to be back some day to explore more of the area!

Awesome set up and great time with the family! Can’t say enough about how great this place is- not too primitive but that great outdoors feel. Everything is well thought of by Thomas and the attention to detail is second to none! As stated in the description, there is no cell service (which we loved!) but a short drive up the road and you can reconnect. We spent the weekend with our three kids+dog and everyone had a great time. Highly recommend!!
