The perfect rustic cabin!
Wow! I can’t say enough good things about this place… such a jam!
I was looking for a “special” place to spend a night while passing through Alabama, and this was spot on. The cabin is equipped with EVERYTHING you may need, everything is build and designed with amazing attention to details, the surrounding is beautiful.. it was really the perfect rustic place. My compliments to the chef!:)

Loved it!
We loved our time at Birdie! It was perfect for our family get away. The restroom and shower were clean and efficient. We were impressed by the tremendous detail and obvious love that had gone into this space. We particularly enjoyed playing in the creek right next to our site. Would love to return!

Best Hipcamp expérience!
This place is meticulously and thoughtfully planned, built, and decorated. I am in awe of all of the details on the property. It is so tranquil and serene and comfortable. Jody is very responsive and kind. Highly recommend!

Built With Love!
Jopappy’s off grid cabin and accompanying outdoor shower and compost toilet were truly beautiful. I couldn’t help but notice that every detail was made with love and intention. I look forward to returning one day!

Camping with Children
This was my second time here but the first time I took children- my niece and nephew 9 and 11. This is a wonderful place for children to explore- the creek is perfect as it is tidy and has tiny fish and crawdads. We tought them about not climbing the banks and leaving no trace but otherwise they were free to explore. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire (we brought our own camp chairs). The two children slept comfortably on the futon on sheets I brought (there are no sheets or blankets for the futon) with a usb fan blowing on them (I brought this, there is no fan downstairs) and we slept soundly in the loft on the very comfortable bed with the fan that is built in. And I was able to make pancakes and sausage links on the indoor stove in the morning. It was necessary to turn on the fan and open the window near the stove to prevent the smoke alarm from going off (again) 😄 Do watch a YouTube about the composting toilet in advance and make sure to teach older children how to use it.
