Heart of the Country is our home and also your own personal twelve acre state park whenever you stay with us!
We are less than 15 minutes from Interstate 10 and from Interstate 65.
I offer a half-dozen campsites, all either on a relatively level paved driveway or grass. Power (20 amp and 30 amp) and water is available. We have two 30 amp campsites, which are first come, first served.
WIFI is available! (please ask for password).
We have a portable toilet (portable-potty) for your use.
This is a Longleaf Pine sanctuary with lots of nature trails.
This is also a hobby farm with livestock (two Donkeys, two Goats and a flock of Chickens). I feed the livestock grain every morning usually between 8 and 9 am, and again hay before dusk. You are always welcome to join me and I'll introduce all of them to you!
My dog, Homer, is our very friendly welcoming ambassador who will enthusiastically great you upon your arrival. I put him up in his kennel each evening around dusk, then lock him in his shed until morning which keeps him from barking during the night.
We also host three AirBnBs, so other guests may be here as well.
Texting via the app is our preferred mode of communication. If you call, please leave a message if I can't answer, and I will call you back.
We are slowly updating the site photos. Use them only to determine your price, for example: A site with 30 amp power and water is $25 per night. A site with 20 amp power and water is $20 per night. A boondocking site (no power) is $15 per night. All sites have access to a porta-potty and water.
Suggested local attraction: Blakeley State Historic Park is four miles away.

Campers consistently find the site to be a peaceful retreat, with Dave's friendly demeanor and accommodating nature receiving high praise. The presence of farm animals adds a unique charm that many guests appreciate. The campsite is noted for its quietness and safety, making it an ideal spot for both solo travelers and groups. Whether it's the sunsets, the trees, or the serene atmosphere, visitors leave feeling relaxed and well-cared for.
Very cute place, calm, peaceful, and welcoming.
Dave is an amazing host how make sure I was comfortable and well settled.
Thank you for such a peaceful weekend. The little farm is a lovely bonus and adds even more charm to the property.
I really enjoyed my stay !
Dave was very helpful in getting me in and showing me around. Everything thing was good with the site, the electric cord and garden hose. I spent one night and left early.
This was a great find. The place was very quiet. Dave greeted me when I got there, really nice guy, and it’s basically a pick your spot when you get there based on whether you’re using electric or not. Dave showed me what areas I could choose from since I didn’t need any amenities. It was a nice flat area in the shade for my campervan. I didn’t hear any noise from anybody else all night or even in the morning. Definitely recommend. I’d go back if I’m ever back in the area. He also has two donkeys, two goats and some chickens down the road a little when you drive in so it was nice to pet some of them.
Lovely area. Quiet, beautiful trees, birds singing. Porta potty was clean and nearby. Lots of options of where to set up. Everyone communicated well and was very kind and helpful! Would definitely recommend staying here!
We really enjoyed our stay at Dave’s camp site!! They were wonderful through the whole entire experience, and we’d love to come back if in the area again!
Perfect spot on our road trip. Our host was amazing and we appreciated the fantastic hospitality. Our pitch was woodland facing and felt very private. Set well back from the roads so very quiet! @lifelessriveted
We enjoyed staying at Dave’s land during one night on a long road trip. The place is quiet and pleasant with nice animals to see. Dave was very polite too.
Excellent stay; Dave is super nice, accommodating and welcoming, property is beautiful and close to a lot (Historic Blakeley Park, Mobile and Fairhope), picnic table and electrical at my site, and Porta potty for all! Animals a bonus!!
Lovely little spot on the hill! We got to watch a beautiful sunset through the pines. Big storm blew in at night, but we were tucked enough that we made it! Absolutely recommend! And I loved getting to say good morning to the goats and donkeys!
The excellent welcome by the courteous host to this idyllic location refreshed the soul of this itinerant visitor. Not once did the donkeys or roosters awaken me too early. [With a little gentle persuasion, one may be able to provoke the host to run an extension cord out to "Boondocker 1 -No Electricity"].
