The inviting waters of Wheeler Lake surround this KOA, perched on a peninsula and dotted with native trees. The campground makes the most of its enviable setting, with sites overlooking the water, right along the waterfront and tucked among shady trees. Thanks to the campground's own boat ramp, it's easy to get out on the lake for a carefree day of fishing, water-skiing or exploring the TVA chain of lakes. A sandy beach welcomes swimmers, and there's plenty of space for strolling, horseback riding and bird-watching. Rent a kayak, canoe, jetski, pontoon boat, or a bike (child/adult sizes) to explore the lakeshore or campground. Max pull thru: 75 feet.     Not the best camping experience. No privacy, people walk along the water and directly through your camp. The bathrooms are dirty and none of the outside faucets work. Other than that, the beach is nicely kept up and the view of the nuclear facility lit up like a Christmas tree all night was unique.

    This is a great spot to relax and enjoy a few quiet moments. We were on lot 41 on the peninsula on the water. The weather was perfect. We were close to a bathhouse with hot clean showers. We so enjoyed the nature! Fish swimming and jumping early morning and cranes. The boat dock was near our site and we enjoyed watching the boats come and go. Saturday nights live music at the camp store was fun with the salty dogs food truck . The staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely add this to our list of favorite spots.
