Come camp on one of the Southeast's most unique properties, Beakertopia! Our 2.4 acre artist compound is enclosed in bamboo and lush with hundred-year-old live oaks + native pollinator flowers we’ve planted. Choose any spot to pitch your tent and enjoy our magic oasis only 20 min from the beautiful white sandy beaches of Gulf Shores. You're welcome to use the "outdoor living room" as you please. This area includes a bar with rainwater catchment for washing hands/dishes, refrigerator, freezer, electric tea kettle, microwave, solar oven, complimentary coffee/tea station, 2 burner biogas stovetop with cooking equipment&utensils, games, aerial yoga silks, climbing wall, slackline, Iyengar yoga rope wall, trash/recycling, filtered alkaline drinking water and more! Feel free to use our laundry facilities, communal picnic basket, and complimentary condiments, seasonings, sauces, etc found in the door of the fridge. Attached to the lounge is our air conditioned ecobathroom with *hot* shower, bio toilet, and complimentary toiletries if you forget anything. A few notes on the property: Most people have never used an EcoToilet and don’t realize it takes some work. If you have children, you will very likely have to do this part for them. We keep the lounge area as clean as possible but at the end of the day it is an outdoor kitchen! Kitchenwares will have a layer of dust even if cleaned the day prior, so please give everything a rinse before you using! You may read about mosquitoes in some of our past reviews, but I am happy to share that we now have a monthly mosquito service in place that has mitigated that issue :) Learn more about this land: Our intention for this artist community is to bring like-minded people together and make the world a more beautiful place. It serves as our primary residence and also residence for seasonal workers&traveling artists when they come here. Every year we have the opportunity to employ about a dozen people to work with us during the tourist season, from March-October. Aside from our local employees, we also wanted to create a space that would allow for fellow travelers to join our crew. Welcome to our enchanting Native American tipi, a haven of cultural immersion and comfort! Nestled amidst the beauty of nature, this 26 ft diameter tipi offers a truly unique and immersive experience. We built this sacred structure from scratch in a year long labor of love~ we harvested the pines ourselves and commissioned the custom canvas from the Native American company Nomadics tipi makers. We built the tipi on a deck several feet above the ground and there is a traditional "rain catcher" in the top; however, there could still be some rain coming in through the top during the occasional torrential downpours we get in this region. Please consider the weather when booking your camping trip! The tipi is off-grid and completely empty besides bug nets+small indoor safe propane firepit, so please bring everything you need to camp comfortably~ i.e bedding, fans, lights, water etc. If you’re booking during the summer we highly recommend bringing a good rechargeable fan as the southern Alabama heat here can be brutal if you aren’t used to it. The tipi is at the very back edge of our property, making it the most private site but also the longest walk from the parking area. You will have access to our outdoor kitchen + bathroom, but please note this site is about 500 feet away from them so plan accordingly. Whether you're seeking a peaceful solo retreat, a romantic getaway, or a family adventure, our Native American tipi provides a one-of-a-kind stay that promises relaxation, inspiration, and a deeper connection to the natural world. Friends of Beakertopia, we couldn’t be more excited to finally share this space with you. Over the last 2.5 years, we built this one-of-a-kind resonant structure entirely by hand with zero prior experience. From pouring the foundation and casting each Aircrete brick, to carving every curve and constructing the castle-style door from scratch, every inch of this dome was created with love, intention, and imagination. Our hope is that this space inspires you to follow your own creative dreams and build something meaningful with your own hands. The dome was intentionally designed with a very open floor plan to support rest, creativity, movement, meditation, yoga, music, ceremony, or simply slowing down. This is your dedicated sleeping and sanctuary space, with access to our outdoor kitchen/lounge area and eco-bathroom for your additional needs. Inside the dome, you’ll find: • A perfectly complimentary round bed for a truly unique slumber • A skylight at the 16-foot peak for dreamy natural light and stargazing • A round sit-in window overlooking our 150-year-old oak grove and Sioux tipi • A calming monochromatic interior inspired by Baker-Miller Pink, a color widely studied for its soothing effects The feeling of walking through the handcrafted vulva-shaped doorway and into the soft pink womb-like interior is unlike anything we’ve experienced. We designed this space to evoke a sense of warmth, familiarity, safety, and “coming home.” This temple space was created as a gentle invitation to disconnect from the noise of mainstream society and reconnect with your own true nature. It exists as a physical expression of the dance between the Sacred Feminine and Divine Masculine, and as a reminder of the divinity that exists within all of us. I stayed in the teepee. It was perfect for a girls night. The tent is in the back of the property so we felt like we had our own private space but still plenty close to the shared space and bathroom. The teepee is adorably decorated inside - we did bring our own camping string lights to help light up the tent at night. Such a fun experience!

Absolutely stunning area and hipcamp! I felt like I was in an enchanted forest somewhere far away. It was super close to the beach too, but even when it rained I really enjoyed staying here watching the rain through the window! Perfect place to relax and work on art

Such a unique and peaceful space. I stayed in the greenhouse dome and it was the perfect comfortable space to rest after a concert. The common area was a great place to relax and the whole property was artistic and interesting. Would definitely recommend this stay.

I loved tent camping on the property! We had the whole place to ourselves one night. The other two nights other people were there but the property is so large you still feel like you’re by yourself. It was beautiful and peaceful. The instructions were clear and helpful. I didn’t have any issues or concerns the entire time we stayed. I will def. camp here again.

What a super cool hip camp! We setup a tent under the live oaks. But the "cabins" are beautiful works of art. So creative and inspiring. The hosts were super nice. Everything about this little bit of paradise was cool and what I think every hip camp should aspire to be. Thank you!!

Beakertopia was so relaxing it felt like therapy! Jason and Emma have put so much love and work into their place, and I felt very comfortable there. In fact, I extended my stay to a full week. If you are a creative, this place will feed your soul. The Live Oaks on their property are stunning, the bathroom was sparkly clean with AC, and the camper pavilion was wonderful. It was hot and humid during the day, but with the fans and shade on the couch I was super comfortable. They had all kinds of cooking supplies and other gear available for use if needed to. Hope I can go back again some day.

Awesome and beautiful campground with excellent amenities to create a sort of “glamping” vibe! Area is quiet and easily accessible to the beach with a 30 min drive! Hosts were very responsive to any questions and it felt safe and fun to be there!! Highly would recommend and would consider staying there again next time I visit!!

Very unique experience! I love the color pink and there was lots of it in the dome to enjoy. The round windows was great to sit in and the skylight was cool! I wasn't too sure about the eco- toilet at first, but it wasn't so bad and easy to operate. Very quiet and serene area yet only 15 minutes from restaurants and stores in the nearby cities. Good vibes here!

What an amazing and unique site! We camped in our tent and we loved how quiet the place was at night. The common area was amazing with lots of space to prep meals and relax. We loved having a water dispenser, phone charging station, fridge and a freezer. Everyone there was so kind and welcoming, including the lovely doggo Bentley! This place is about 20 minutes from Gulf Shores beaches, there are some convenience stores nearby. For the best firewood, go to Lowe's. Highly recommended!

This place is somewhere that I could spend an entire month ! The land is beautiful, incredibly clean and maintained and peaceful. The highlight of the place for me is the shared communal area. So much thought and intention put into it, couches, gas fire pit, clean and beautifully painted and designed. Also for longer term campers there is a full kitchen, yoga mats, lanters and so much more. You can basically show up with just a tent and have everything else you need provided. Amazing place highly recommend

We loved staying at beakertopia! Such a fun and colorful vibe and very eco-friendly. We enjoyed the stargazing dome and the other sites looked awesome too! Lots of amenities and communal spaces to hangout. Definitely recommend and we will be returning.

I loved the dome! The bed was nice, the property was easy to find, and the people were friendly. The only thing we couldn’t do was stargaze due to the ambient light pollution, which was a big reason I booked it. I even brought my telescope in anticipation! All in all nice glamping site, but don’t expect a clear view of the sky.

This is a very HIP Hipcamp. Unusual structures and very unique. Unfortunately, I was there when the weather was cold and there were no other campers on the premises so the ability to gather in the wonderful and comfortable common living area was minimal. I would love to return during warm weather to take advantage of the amenities.

Camping under the oaks was beautiful. There is plenty of shade and it was extremely peaceful. There are plants and fruits trees that I'm excited to see how they've grown next time I'm back! Theounge was also very cool especially during 90+deg temps. +1 for the neat solar oven and +1 for the adorable dog.
