We had a lovely time staying in the BigFoot Primitive Cabin at Patrick’s point. Not only were we welcomed by the Patricks upon arrival, but Mr Patrick gave us wonderful directions to Cumberland Falls as well as recommended a lovely trail. We are rock climbers and are very used to camping in the cold and rain (we were there on very rainy Thanksgiving and it got down in the 30s during he night) so we came super prepared to stay without the My Buddy heater the Patricks offer as an add on. If you are not properly outfitted or used to cold temps, GET THE HEATER! It would be well worth the extra expense. We plan to come again and book another cabin to bring our 5 year old with us. We will get the heater next time. We purchased the 5 bundles for $20 and we so happy we did. Again, Justin and I are experienced in building fires in the rain, so we also came prepared. Mr Patrick told us he has given many new campers help with their fires in the past, so don’t hesitate to ask him for help as he is a wonderful host! As I mentioned, we plan to come back with our son as well as friends in the future! Mr Patrick also took the time to take us out to some un-climbed rock faces in the national forest and show us a beautiful waterfall! Seriously, this place is a gem. Please be respectful of their lovely property and the surrounding National Forest. I hope this places grows in popularity, but will be in the same pristine condition for future generations. Coming from the Red River Gorge, we found this area to have much less traffic, and hope that you will visit to find it the same. Again, the firewood was awesome, so add some bundles to your trip here, and you will probably want the heater unless you are like us.... we will sleep outside in the snow with no tent! This place and these people are magical. Words cannot express the lovely energy this place has. Totally a perfect Thanksgiving for two dirt bag rock climbers like us.

The camp was amazing! Such a beautiful location! Everything was great from the hospitalityof the host's to the access to the river on propertyand beingable to close the gate behind you and when you leave! I am looking forward to many more trips to this awesome location! I would highly recommend this camp and these host's! They have more camps as well as direct access to the river and are extremely nice people who went well out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant experience! I can't say enough good things about this place and nothing bad at all!

We enjoyed our stay at Bigfoot cabin. Our fire pit didn’t have a grill and Patrick was so helpful finding one for us. He is a very accommodating host and asked us multiple times what he could do for us. It was nice to be able to go on a busy holiday weekend and find such quiet accommodations, far from the maddening crowd. :-)

All I can say is, this is a must experience! Patrick is one of if not the best person I have ever had the privilege of meeting. Very welcoming and super down to earth. The cabin was perfect for what we wanted, peace and quiet. The property has well kept trails that we walked several times during our stay. Just an absolute hidden gem. The price for what you get is really a bargain. We will definitely be back!

Such a pleasure to host and welcome guests from so far away! Lovely, easy going, great communicators and took such great care of the forest. I would happily welcome them back anytime and of course, recommend to any future host. Thank you Joey!
