Pitch your tent on our hundred-acre mountain, forest farm. You can choose to stay close to the bath house, playground, pavilion, community kitchen, and other guests, or hike back into the woods for as much privacy as you can tolerate (we only recommend this for experienced campers/backpackers). We have a steep and rugged 1.5 mile hiking trail on the farm and all the dogs you could ever want to pet (but please don't bring yours!). Unplug and unwind - there's no cell service or wifi here, (but we do have a landline you can use)! Please note, we have several rental sites on the property so expect to encounter other guests.

Generally speaking, someone will be around the farm if you need assistance, but we're early-to-bed, early-to-rise type folks so if you arrive after sunset, your chances of meeting us before morning begin to dwindle. PITCH YOUR TENT ANYWHERE IN THE FIELD TO THE LEFT OF THE DRIVEWAY AFTER YOU CROSS THE BRIDGE. There's a firepit in the far corner where the treelines meet at the creek or you can bring your own portable fire pit. There's also a giant bonfire pit near the pavilion where we sell firewood bundles You can also scavenge the forest for dead wood, but please DO NOT bring firewood onto the farm and DO NOT cut live trees. Be sure to check out the farm map photo so you'll know where to find key features like restrooms and the kitchen (some of the sites need updating, but the bath house and kitchen are set).

The Community Kitchen is fully stocked with 4 ovens, fridge/freezer, gas stovetop, microwave, coffee maker, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, baking sheets, etc. We also sell our farm-fresh eggs and other goodies so bring cash in case you get a snack attack. Because this space is shared by all guests, it is IMPERATIVE that you clean up after yourself. This includes washing, drying, and returning dishes to where you found them, as well as wiping off the countertops and sweeping up any messes. Failure to do so will result in being banned from future bookings. Compost and recycling bins are accessible just outside the double doors.

We highly recommend booking for at least two nights so you'll  have time to hike the Pinnacles, kayak at Owsley Fork reservoir, and check out all the arts and crafts shops in Berea. We're also only about an hour from the scenic Red River Gorge geologic area, known for world-class rock climbing.

NO PETS - NO EXCEPTIONS (we have pets and livestock here and our insurance will not cover your critter). Check-in begins at 3p, check out is at 11a. We highly recommend arriving before dark as there are no street lights on the farm to guide you (great for star-gazing).

Our farm is mostly forest.

Owsley Fork Reservoir is just 8 miles away. There's also a smaller reservoir on our road about a half mile away.

Our farm is around 800' at the creek and 1200' at the top of the mountain so the hiking is a bit steep for some.

The camping area is a large, open field snuggled in the valley between forested hillsides.

I returned after a week and thoroughly enjoyed it, and the kids did too! We were so glad we moved our tent from the field to "the porch" campsite, so we were able to tent camp and not get soaked in the beautiful rain! We played games in the game room and had a wonderful breakfast together and met the sweetest other campers. We'll definitely be back, hopefully next time with the whole family, if not us and a bunch of friends. I imagine this being a wonderful place for a retreat, permaculture gathering, qigong workshop, botany gathering, or even a family reunion. Such wonderful land and tenders. You can feel the love there.

What a wonderful place to go that feels secluded and safe where you know the owners take care of the land and also really care about visitors' experiences. It is absolutely beautiful and sweet. Definitely returning with the family! Every aspect of this special place well thought out and goes beyond any expectations I'd have.

Had a fantastic weekend! This is a great getaway. We camped in the tent camping field by the communal fire pit which is located next to a beautiful stream. The hosts Jessa and Nate were extremely friendly and do a wonderful job with the land which makes the stay very enjoyable. Even though we tent camped (which was perfect), they have some very cool spots on the property (campers, teepee, domes etc..). They have a communal kitchen with everything you need to make a nice meal which includes some delicious food options from their impressive garden. You can grill out or just make a sandwich and chill in a rocking chair. There is some really cool hiking around the property. There are kayak rentals up the street very close by and the historical town of Berea is also a short drive away. They have firewood and homemade snacks available for cash (honor system cash container). You’ll get an occasional visit from some hilarious goats and the resident dogs (Jeffrey and Coco) are super friendly and love some scratchins. 10/10 recommend this place for any getaway. I will be back.

This place is magical. Jessa and Nathan were wonderful hosts, the community kitchen is so well-equipped, and bathrooms/showers are clean and lovely. We were able to get a lovely hike in, make lots of good meals, and shower every day for a totally refreshing and relaxing stay in a beautiful landscape. There are structures in the landscape for others to stay in, we tent camped in the large field and enjoyed privacy, stars, and a babbling brook behind us. Don’t miss this place! It’s really got everything, for whatever level of outdoorsy-ness you’re into.

The Secluded Mountain Holler was perfect! The area was beautiful, the tent field was big with lots of space for everyone. The kitchen has anything and everything you could possibly need and the bathrooms are well located. The hosts were very welcoming and gave us great tips on things to do in the area. Thank you Jessa and Nate!

Jessa and Nate were wonderful hosts! We arrived after a week and a half of rain planning to pitch our own tents and sleep on the ground, they were very helpful in recommending the potentially driest locations, and when we discovered most of our camping gear was better suited to warmer weather, they let us borrow some better sleeping bags.
In the craziness of a world it was nice to take a weekend to disconnect; and do so surrounded by great people, the best dogs, chickens, ducks, one or two wolf spiders, and a babbling creek. We can not recommend HomeGrown Hideaways, or these hosts enough; if youre looking for a basecamp to explore The Pinnacles, Anglin Falls, or Berea, or you just need to get out this is the place to go.
