The hosts were very good communicators, checking in on us at setup and during the night while a large storm rolled in (but I had no signal with Verizon down at the site so I didn't get anything until we were leaving in the morning). and the site was nice overlooking the river.

Tip: a midsize truck is the largest size you should take down the trail to the river site due to sandy-mud. Must be off-road capable, with four wheel drive, and all terrain tires if possible. Bring traction boards if you have them. It torrentially downpoured on us all night and our truck got stuck in the muddy sand at the site, but we used our traction boards to step out little by little. It wasn't difficult though and didn't detract from our experience.. that's part of overlanding, right? 😊

Loved how quiet and secluded the site was, and how absolutely serene it was drinking coffee while watching the mist roll over the river in the morning. We will absolutely be back, but will park up in the grass and walk down to the site next time! 😊

Tent camping in our midsize truck along the river. The view of the canopy above us.

Beautiful property here along the Kentucky river. Great for tent camping and the host was very responsive and met us to show us the way back to the site. Beautiful drive in along back roads and great to wake up next to the river for morning coffee.

Great communication from Chelsea and David, especially detailed directions to their property. I wasn't able to stay at the river site due to muddy ground, but they offered a stay at the lake site for the same price as the river site. Awesome stuff! Great property, great people, great stay!
