Great location, great hosts!
Kathy and Scott were wonderful hosts; very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The site was beautiful. We slept right by the river. One night was foggy and the barges blowing their foghorns in the night were quite loud, but it was a neat experience. Saw lots of wildlife including golden eagles flying over the river. Our campsite had plenty of shade, nice views, and easy access to the portapotty. We loved being the only campers, but there are only a few sites and they are spread out enough that you would still have some privacy if other campers were around. I am so glad to know about this great site. We will definitely be back.
Staying at Hidden Valley River Camp was so much fun. It was the perfect location. Fre other camp spots, and the other spots are spread out so it feels like you have the whole thing to yourself. The camp being right on the river was just a huge plus. The hosts were also extremely accommodating and friendly! We have every intention to visit this spot multiple times a year.
New favorite place
Absolutely loved this place. We were secluded, right on the river, beautiful view. I brought three small kids and even though the river was up it was connected to a creek and there were plenty of areas only knew deep for the kids to play. We caught several fish. Scott and Kathy were amazing. Scott was really helpful in giving us hiking tips, water depths, things to do and watch out for. He was so friendly. He even took the kids on a golf card ride and let them drive (probably there favorite thing of the whole weekend). Kathy is quick to respond and very helpful. We had a great time. Perfect spot for a family. Outhouse was clean and had a little hand wash station. He allowed us to use a little pavilion which was great during heat of the day and had a fan and swing. There was access to electric. Metal fire pit was nice to cook on. Grass was cut and it had a huge flat grassy area perfect for the kids to play baseball. We hiked the creek. The property is full of great fossils. Definitely coming back here. Scott and Kathy are amazing hosts and love what they do. I feel like Scott is an old friend. Thanks again guys!!
I can’t think of a single thing i would change about camping here! The site is just beautiful. Flat ground to lay a tent down. Beautiful views. Water to swim and fish in. We just enjoyed it completely. We will be back - no doubt!
We can’t wait to come back
This is such a fantastic location, and our hosts were so welcoming. We were able to stay at the site right by the river so the views were amazing, but the other site in the woods by the dried creek looked great as well. The site had a street lamp with an outlet that you could control as well as two picnic tables and a fire pit with a grill grate. We’re already planning our next trip for when we can come back!
