Osage Landing at Pomona Lake

12 acres hosted by Neil D.
As our family has grown we keep adding property to our background. This is the best of our land. Overlooking Pomona lake and mile from the city you can truly get away from it all here. Go fishing, hiking, biking, Kayaking or any sort of outdoor fun. Our family of 5 live in the main home and we use the basement as a Bed & breakfast. There is something for everyone here at the ranch. We do offer the use of Kayaks, Stand up paddle boards and outdoor recreational games for Kids and adults. Future plans for a long Zipline in the works.

Neil is an amazing host! He carried my equipment to the campsite on his trailer, and even assisted me with setting my tent up. The campsite was great, and I had a great time. Highly recommended!!

Osage Landing
This was a great spot. It is well groomed, mowed paths, fire pit, little bit of shade. We loved the solitude and quiet. The star gazing is absolutely beyond explanation. There are lots of wildflowers and dragonflies. Not buggy at all. The lake is so pretty and fairly quiet. Our dogs had a blast. Host was very attentive to our needs and responded quickly to texts.

Wildflower wonderland
My sister and I stayed at Neil’s for a Sisters’ camping weekend. We went in the middle of September, and the wildflowers were in full bloom, it was breathtaking! I can’t begin to describe how beautiful the camping spot was - lake view, surrounded by wildflowers, amazing sunset and sunrise views, the stars and moon fully visible, as well. We went hiking on the Flint Hills Nature Trail during the day, and the Vassar Trailhead was only a 15 minute drive. Most people hiking the trail stay at Pomona Lake State Park but we wanted a more private experience, so we searched hipcamp in the surrounding area and Neil’s place popped up - we were so glad we opted for his place. He was a generous and kind host, accommodating and helpful. I can’t say enough good things about his land and our entire experience. Thank you Neil and hipcamp! We want to make this into an annual tradition!

The perfect spot, the perfect host
Can’t say enough good things about Neil and his campsite. He was the absolute perfect host. Helped out when we needed, stayed out of our way but was very friendly. He has also recently set up a playground, so great for the kids. He’s an electrical engineer so any problems you have with that... he can help! I have never felt so at home in a trailer as I did staying on his land. If I were ever going through the area again, I would definitely stay here. Easy in and out for people who aren’t great at backing in. Level spot. Electrical, water and basically dumping — he has a septic tank he’s happy to help you access. Shower / bathroom was clean. Five stars. Everything a host should be.

Peaceful, safe harbor from storms.
Neil's property offered a safe, PEACEFUL respite on our trip. Despite relentless rains in Kansas, he had a gravel way we could safely park our 27ft RV. He had mowed a path around the fields, that we could walk our dog, and admire the wildflowers. We had a nice view of the lake, and beautiful birds (including indigo buntings, cedar waxwings, and orioles) Neil went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed, like water, and electricity. He even had an interior bathroom available IF there was a tornado warning.
