We had a great stay at Loren's site. Nice fire pit and water access, and just a short walk down to a lovely river. About a 5 mile bike ride into Iowa City!
Great option for visiting Iowa City. It's remote enough to be quite and peaceful but close enough to town. The pad was well kept and level. All of the utilities were in good working order and reliable. I'd definitely stay here again.
River Camp was the perfect place for us! It was very close to the Johnson County Fairgrounds, where we had an event to attend. It was very easy to hop on a bike route and explore Iowa City. The camp is as it is called, right on the river. We did not have time to kayak this time, but we will be back to do so. You could end your kayak trip right at your camp site. We really appreciated the off leash for our dog. It was a very private spot with water, sewer and electric hook ups. Nice big fire pit and open space for kids to play. Lots of trails to explore the forest.

Loren was wonderful. He greeted us upon arrival. His wife made a beautiful bouquet of hand picked flowers for the picnic table..so kind:) We fished 1 minute from the camp site, cooked lots of food, had lots of laughs & fun in a quiet peaceful setting, we hiked on the grounds with all our kids ranging from 4 months to 25 years old. Well worth the 2 1/2 hour drive. We will definitely be back.

Loved our secluded stay in Iowa City, with just a short drive to hiking and Iowa City fun!
Had a great time staying at Loren’s River Camp. Site was clean and very spacious. Loren was very helpful in getting us settled. Great location and plenty of space for activities. Would absolutely come again!
