Horse Creek is set up to get away from it all. But we realize some guests want to be able to enjoy the surrounding area, away from the ranch. When you book your stay, we will be asking how you want to camp. Those who want to stay on the property, can pitch their tent anywhere on the land. For those who want to do some sight seeing, we will put you closer to the entrance but you can still enjoy all of the 170 acres.
Special Notes:
Fishing: This is a special opportunity to camp by a premier fishing hole. We only allow one party per night at 35.00 dollars per tent.
Horse owners : You can rent one or more of our tent sites, keeping your horse with you in a nearby corral .
Horse Rentals: For children, a short ride accompanied by our wranglers in our arena or for adults, a two hour guided trail ride beginning with an introduction to trail riding. Contact us for more details
Dog owners: We are pet friendly at Horse Creek Adventures but it does require that dog owners work with us. At any given time there are horses and dogs sharing the same space. Tell us up front that you are bringing a dog and tell us about its size and breed. Our rule of thumb is small dogs are welcome. Large dogs are on a case by case basis. This is especially important for dogs that are trained to protect their owners. When dogs are here they must be kept on a leash, "no exceptions"
Less than an hour from Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska. St. Joseph and Kansas City, Missouri are about an hour and half. Close attractions include- Lewis & Clark Center, Sidney Rodeo in early August, Underground railroad, Arbor Lodge...just to name a few.

Celebrated Thanksgiving with some winter camping at Horse Creek. It was quiet and had some beautiful views and trails. Lona was a great host and kept communication prior to our arrival.
It was everything I needed. i had my tent cot and a fire pit tucked away in the trees for my overnight stay. A quick getaway that was rest for my soul! Miss Lona was so sweet and made sure I was not lacking for anything while there.
Was absolutely one of the most beautiful experiences for my boyfriend and I! We will be back for sure!
Super accommodating hosts. Site was crazy clean and the location was so beautiful and green and comfortable. We didn’t stay long but then booked more nights on the way back from our destination because it was so lovely. The hosts were kind, inclusive, and easy to work with even though we arrived so late (actually, early). Lastly, i should add that we had a total misfortune and had to cancel 3 of our 4 nights at the last second and they fully refunded them and were so kind to us. Thank you Jack and Lona!
Horse Creek Adventures was the perfect stop on our road trip. We tent camped one night with a quiet site and private fire ring. They had firewood for sale ($10), and even provided us with a jug of drinking water. There are some cute cows next door too!
Cool spot! We had some unfortunate communication issues, but a refund was offered and issued promptly.
Keep an eye out for ticks!
Lovely place to stay though Google maps gps somehow sends you a few miles away. We had a tough time made tougher by the fact that ATT cell service is very spotty in the area. Verizon is fine. Luckily Nona, our host was in communication with us earlier and spotted us on the road and guided us to our site. Google will put you on Bluff Rd, but will tell you to keep going while you need to turn up Horse Creek Rd. Once on Horse Creek Rd, look out for a Whoa sign and signs that say Horse creek Adventures. It will be on your right side and you will also see a meadow with RV hook-ups. Best to communicate and meet-up with your host Nona to guide to your site. If you are camping, the campsites are up and along a step dirt path - most cars will have no problem getting up there.
Now the good stuff: once you are there, the sites are dispersed enough to feel like you are alone in nature. Ours had a fire-pit. Nona supplied us with a 5-gallon jug of potable water and some wood to burn. There is a ports-potty, but it was pretty far from our site - we carry our own portable toilet so it was no issue. The site we chose was wooded and made for a good night sleep. Some of the other sites can be more open. Your choice. The land is beautiful snd there is plenty of acreage to hike or mountain bike. The views of the rolling hills are very nice. Nona is a great host. She us aware of the GPS issue and is trying to sort it out. But once you know it is Bluff Rd to Horse Creek Rd. Just ignore Google maps and you will be fine.
