This was our first experience with Hipcamp. The Greenhouse was an excellent place to start. Although it was a back-in spot, we backed in across a lawn instead of a tight driveway. Robin was quick to attend to our needs. We had a great sunset to greet us. Trash and recycle bins in Greenhouse itself, along with refrigerator and firewood and other helpful instructions. Location is close to the interstate.
Greenhouse and farm
We really enjoyed our first hipcamp with Robin! Robin was friendly and easy to communicate with and has very well written instructions INSIDE the greenhouse regarding location of parking your RV. plenty of room to navigate and maneuver. the yard has well kept pathways through tall grass on the property for a night walk with your friends. Great amenities as well with a fridge and freezer in the greenhouse with waters and chocolate for s'mores. the ambiance in a late summer evening was a great first experience!
We had a great time camping at Greenhouse Camping! While there is a house on the property lived in by renters (not the owner of the Hipcamp site), they were clearly used to having people in the site and while they seemed friendly, they also just stayed away from the site. The main road is close, but not super busy so that noise didn't bother us at all. There is a housing development going in to the south as you can see from Robin's pictures, so there may be construction noise during the week, but since we were there on the weekend/Labor Day the rigs were parked, so it wasn't noisy at all. The walking path was nice and the view of the sunset was wonderful each night! Robin was very nice and super helpful the night we arrived. The kids loved the smores kit and made sure to enjoy it the first fire we made :) . We went swimming at Saylorville Lake just 15 minutes away and it had a great beach. We also went hiking and exploring at Ledges State Park about 30 minutes away, which we would highly recommend to anyone in the area! We would definitely recommend this location!!
Robin’s property is lovely with huge shade trees, just as pictured. We arrived near dark and were only spending the night so we didn’t see more of the property. The sight was clean and welcoming, a string of party lights to one side. For those with trailers, the sight is a bit unlevel side to side. We were in a 30’ travel trailer. Both 30amp and water hookups. Directions were good. Robin was most helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed a nice quiet restful sleep under a beautiful moon.
We stayed at the Greenhouse in our 36 ft RV. It is a beautiful peaceful area! Great sunset view and nice mowed walking paths through the property. This was our first Hip Camp and I would highly recommend the Greenhouse!!
