Anna’s land is amazing. It felt very remote. There was even another camper one of the nights and we hardly noticed where he was. Campsite 1 has an amazing sunset view and we even went down the road and used the state park beach which was nice as well.

Very private and peaceful. Host's husband stopped by and dropped off extra firewood. Great place!
My wife and I love camping, so we splurged on a tiny 9’ Meerkat trailer for a bit more comfort (an actual bed) and convenience (think late night trips to the bathroom) as we age out of tent camping (turning 70 in December). But we were so disappointed with what “camping” has become in the last few years - gigantic white metal boxes all crammed into a virtual parking lot. And nobody ever steps away from their tv’s and easy chairs to actually visit the great outdoors first hand!
That’s where Hipcampers and Anna’s Land come in, with only 4 camping spaces and plenty of room to get away from all those people thinking they’re getting away from it all. We stayed in site #3 for two nights. It sits high atop a grassy hill with a view that goes on for miles. Our Meerkat is sort of self-contained so we had the basics for camping, with a water supply, a porta potty, and a solar panel to keep the Kat’s battery topped off for charging cell phones (I’m an avid news skimmer, and both my wife and I enjoy taking photos).
Site #3 has a nice picnic table where we could use our single burner stove for cooking, heating coffee water and eating. There was also a bit of woods in the back where it was shady and cool for surviving the two 90+ degree days we spent there.
Finally, getting away from it all to remember what getting away is all about! Anna added to our great experience by being quickly responsive to our questions by texts or messaging in the Hipcampers app.

Beautiful, private, clean campsite
My new favorite spot for a weekend getaway! The hilltop is beautiful and there is even a view of the lake. The ponds on the property are a great bonus too with LOTS of fish (I caught bass, bluegill and crappie). It was also really nice that there is a tripod and table at each campsite for cooking. I would 10/10 recommend this spot to anyone!
Quiet, picturesque camping
Beautiful spot! I camped in the lower site overlooking the pond. Had a gorgeous evening by the fire. It's buggy on a summer evening, but a campfire will help that a lot. Perfect sunset views, super peaceful. Each campsite is outfitted so nicely, too--you've got a picnic table, a great fire pit with cooking tripod, and solar powered lanterns. Even if all four sites were full, I think this spot would still feel relatively private and quiet.
Unfortunately, the weather got rough later in the evening. A wind storm blew in (no rain, luckily) and I had a sleepless night! Not the fault of the hosts at all. Just know that this site is probably a little more exposed to the elements than highest site, which is partially sheltered by trees. Overall, glad I camped here, and would highly recommend!
This site was absolutely perfect! The view was amazing being on top of the hill, and the privacy was a nice surprise. Will definitely be coming back!
Memorial weekend solitude!
Site 1 was perfect for a lovely couple of nights last minute on Memorial Weekend. Directions were clear and the site was as described. Mother Nature cooperated with wind and favorable temps so we did not need shade. The site is open with a nice view down into a pond and grassland with lots of birds and frogs. Other campsites were occupied but it is still so much more spacious than the typical campgrounds nearby. The Volksweg bike trail nearby is awesome!
