Such a nice, peaceful getaway! The grounds were well kept and very beautiful. The kids loved the view of the horse out of the window. Our hosts were very respectful of our privacy and were quick to respond to any questions we had.
Such a nice guy!
Steve was an amazingly accommodating host while I made a grave error in my reservation. Unfortunately, I booked his place for the wrong night and realized it just before arrival. Steve was so kind that he offered to drive home from his camping trip to accommodate us. We were able to find other accommodations at a local campground and would never have accepted his offer. Even after our mistake he insisted on refunding our money. What a great guy! I hope to stay with him another time.
Beautiful farm camp
George the horse greeted us along with two sweet cats. Steve and Linda were super nice and made us feel right at home. The setup by the barn was easy and tranquil, and the place was a very short drive off the interstate. Convenient, friendly, and a pretty setting--a perfect Hipcamp!
Wonderful, peaceful stay.
Steve and Linda were wonderful hosts. They brought us strawberries from their garden and hooked us up with farm fresh eggs from a neighbor for $2/dozen. We spent the weekend of my husband’s birthday, and they put a cute sign on our window wishing him a happy birthday! Having a single, full hook-up site during the time of Covid was a real treat. We had plenty of space to ourselves, including a fire pit that they set out for our use. Steve and Linda checked in on us continually, but were not intrusive at all. We did join them on their porch one night for a drink at sunset. George the horse was a lot of fun to watch, and Lowell the cat was very friendly and sweet. We hiked at Shades State Park, about 45 miles away, and walked the Big 4 Trail, which we picked up in Lebanon. We’d come back with bikes to do that trail, it’s very nice!Steve and Linda have really created a life and home that dreams are made of. It was a wonderful, peaceful stay!
Steve and Linda were great hosts. The site is level with full hookups for 50amp. I had a issue with my front jack and they let me borrow their floor jack to get hooked up. We would definitely stay again. George the horse was our only neighbor but he is very friendly and no bother at all.
We loved waking up to see George every morning! He is such a friendly horse, even when my dogs were unsure of what he was! The site was perfect - it felt secluded but we knew we could reach out as needed. It was a lovely long weekend on the farm! 💜
A beautiful place in the country
This was a great experience. The hosts are a delightful couple. They have a beautiful, quiet spot in the farm country north of Indianapolis and took very good care of us when we arrived. The property is very nice and the full hookups worked perfectly. We will definitely be back.
My husband and I stayed here with our newborn for an overnight on our way to Tennessee. Steve and Linda were incredibly generous. This was our first time traveling with a baby and our ETA was a bit unpredictable. They warmly welcomed us with a late check in and were flexible with our departure. The property was easy to find and beautiful. We loved waking up to say hello to their horse George and their two friendly cats. They provided hookups and even loaned us an extension cord when we needed one. We would definitely stay here again!
Kindnesses for newbie campers
Last night was our first Hipcamp experience. Steve was very helpful with getting settled and as we departed today he came to our assistance. We are new to camping and greatly appreciated his knowledge, caring and sharing a helpful tool. Their encouraging words helped us not to worry about our water pipes in the below freezing overnight temps with steady overnight winds. Everyone will enjoy their visit at the Shalamar Farm. We purchased a dozen fresh eggs they offered and are enjoying them. Thanks Steve and Linda!
