What once started in the mid 1800's as a 240 acre sugar maple tree farm is now our little 18 acres of heaven on earth. Our house was built in 1875 and for those who love old houses, tours can be arranged! The land is rolling and dotted with flower beds, animals, and beautiful green grass that is mowed weekly. We are bordered by fields and a cemetery that dates back to the 1800's. We are neighbors with those who grow crops, raise beef cows, bison, and alpacas. 2 blocks from our driveway is Blue River which offers fishing, kayaking, tubing, and canoeing (if you have your own equipment). Town is 2 minutes away, but there is not much there other than a convenience gas station, thrift shop, a nic-nac store that still sells penny candy, and an engine repair shop. "Civilization" is a 30 minute drive to find movies, grocery, shopping, and a public pool. The sky appears to be scattered with diamonds on a clear night and during season the fireflies light the trees up like twinkling lights at Christmas! Learn more about this land: We have an 18 acre mini farm, close to a small town and near a river. We have two small ponds that can be fished in during the spring, wildlife, and birds to watch. There are 6 very nice areas for camp sites that allow for privacy and relaxation. Each site has a fire pit and table. We also have just put in a new out house and have a port-a-potty for our campers to use. We are 10 minutes from Interstate 70 and only 30 minutes from Indianapolis. If you are just passing through or arriving late, let us know and we will be happy to have a campfire started for you. Accommodations can be made for group camping! Lovely place, great host

The host, Mary, was very communicative, friendly and clear. She met us moments after we drove up, and guided us to our site; she stayed for a few minutes to orient us and answer questions. The site was clean, mowed and lovely. We could see 3 other groups of campers, and hear them somewhat, but we were all spread out just right. The outhouse was clean and supplied with soft tp, thank you! We were there for 2 days around the total eclipse, and the farm was the perfect place to view that. Notably, they did not raise their rates to try to gouge visitors. We enjoyed being serenaded by the blackbirds and various frogs at the pond.

Perfect spot!!

We absolutely loved Marick Acres!! Our family wanted to camp somewhere in the path of totality and Mary’s place was perfect! We had a huge campsite with plenty of space for our tents and even games in the field around it. We had plenty of wood already cut and piled up for our campfires and a picnic table to enjoy our meals. Mary was so gracious and kind and always responded quickly! We loved our stay and have nothing but good things to say about it!! What an amazing way to spend the eclipse!

Our stay was outstanding! We had an amazing view of the eclipse 🤩. Lots of open space to relax in a park like setting. More firewood than we would ever need. A picnic table and even a big swing. Highly recommend 😀

Great Find!

What a delightful spot! Both accessible and quiet. Very family friendly and lots of space to play. Great communication from Mary (owner) and also very friendly staff - Raymond even helped my boys fetch their Frisbee that was hung up in a tree. Would definitely come again!
