I can't say enough good things about staying at Nance's - there are so many details that make this a wonderful place to be. The land is truly gorgeous and a birder's paradise. The fireflies at night and the sunset over the prairie is unreal! Highly recommend both the sauna and biking the nearby Jane Addams trail, which Nance kindly recommended to us. Nance's sweet and friendly pets are also a highlight that bears mentioning.

I was blown away at how beautiful it is here! There was so much to explore and see. Nance was an amazing host, taking time to make sure we had everything we need and showing us around. We loved her pets too they were a joy to meet! You can tell a lot of love and hard work goes into maintaining the land. Sunsets and sunrises were spectacular! Highly recommend staying here!
Peaceful, beautiful, amazing!! Would definitely stay again. The prairie and creek on the land is so magical!! Nance was awesome, and was flexible and understanding.

I loved staying here and hope to come back again. I learned a lot and Nance is VERY accommodating. Absolutely recommend the pod and the land! You get a beautiful view of the sunset, there are hammocks in several spots, and the sauna is LEGIT! I missed being here as soon as I got home.

Everything was just as pictured and I would totally come here again
Rustic, but with so much character and the kind of place where an artist's heart can run wild and free, I was enchanted by the camping/glamping experience on Nance's property. Down a private property road and in proximity to a barn that doubles as an indoor hangout space when the weather's less than lovely, the entire property is a sort of semi off-the-grid ecological farm; (Nance, my gracious host) would say it much better. Around every corner is a touch of artistry meet home-spun practicality. On-site there was incredible enjoyment of the nearby trails, wooden platforms and outdoor spaces. A couple of hammocks hung nearby invited the soul to linger a bit longer. For next time! Best of all, you'll love the sound of the howling coyotes from all directions, coupled with owls—perfect timed like a halloween soundtrack. Waking up to the sounds of birds chirping and the crisp cool air was just a pleasure. And don't forget to ask about the mud-built outdoor pizza often and the log-built sauna. Didn't do that add-on, but absolutely wish I had. For winter, would be amazing.
Fantastic stay in a cute and rustic setting. Visited from Chicago and it was nice to be connect with nature. The prairie was a beautiful range of gold, orange and brown with surprise hints of purple. I took a walk around the the prairie when I arrived, after dark, and early morning. Couldn't get enough. There's a bunch of cool biking too. At night the stars were amazing. And I saw Jupiter! Late at night a thunder storm rolled in and I was cozy as can be in the The Lichen Pod.

Staying here was an absolute dream! The Lichen Pod is clean n' cute, with a comfy bed, plenty of windows, and more space inside than I even knew what to do with - I was able to choose one area just for reading/journaling and one area just for stretching. Plenty of room for storage, too. Outside there's everything you could ask for: acres and acres of forest and prairie, a meandering stream, and even a cool wooden deck to watch the sunset from, with paths connecting them all together. It was perfect for hours of wandering around peacefully, plus I was able to see alllll the stars at night. This place has renewed my sense of connection with nature! Nance was a great host, and clearly cares deeply about this land - her wonder and knowledge made the visit all the more special. I definitely recommend!
