The farm made for a perfect spot for our overnight trip on the Tunnel Hill Trail and our first Hipcamping experience. The farm is just a few miles north of the northern terminus of the trail. So much of the land in the area is open farmland, but the property has a beautiful pond with a good amount of tree cover, to provide both privacy and some protection from the elements. Mustang was a wonderful host, let us take showers, which was great after a long ride, and even lent us some camp chairs to sit around the fire, by the pond, which was great at the end of a long day. Highly recommend!
This is a sweet spot for a smaller camper. It's right by a pond, and we were happily greeted by the chickens, roosters, duck and horse! Very private and quiet :)

The host was responsive and the oasis retreat was everything it claims to be. I definitely recommend this space for anyone that wants quick access to Shawnee
We had a great time on the farm enjoying some tranquil evenings at the pond, with campfire, and breakfasts surrounded by the lively barnyard animals. The pond with the tree line makes for a secluded setting.
The farm was a good base for our excursions to hiking and biking in the Shawnee National Forest and is close to shopping and dining in Eldorado and Harrisburg.

Thank you kindly.
Mustang was so kind and accommodating, and the farm was lovely! We got to set up camp right by the pond and enjoy it as home base between hikes around Shawnee Forest. Definitely recommend!

How sweet. Thank you for hanging out.
We enjoyed exchanging the sights and sounds of city life for the very different sights and sounds of this charming, rustic, small farm: the crowing of roosters, the cackling of hens, the gentle snorting of the horse. I heard a whippoorwill's unique bird-call which I haven't heard for many years. We enjoyed sitting around the scenic pond and exploring little trails in wooded areas on the property. Mustang was responsive, helpful and friendly in our exchanges of messages before and during our stay. We saw Mustang doing some farm tasks, but we mostly felt like we had the place to ourselves. The gravel road approaching from the east was well-maintained and not dusty for us. Alternatively you can take the paved road from the south with only a few feet of the gravel road from it to the driveway (I don't know about approaches from other directions).

How sweet. Thank you. I didn't know how the sounds were as I've never heard them. Thanks for explaining them. I didn't know the horse made sounds. I just know she was doing something with her nose. Wow. Yeah I've got a lot of variety here.
As others have said, Mustang is a great host because she is kind and accommodating.
There was a freshly mowed path to our site and The campsite had a fire pit, easy access to kindling and was flat. There was plenty of space for kids to run around and the animals were friendly. And a nice space to see the starry sky.
Our site was close to the neighbors house, but because we were the only guests at the farm it didn’t feel crowded. The farm was in a good location for exploring Shawnee National Forrest/ garden of the gods.
We are already planning our next visit to Garden of the Gods and Deaf Barefoot Melange Farm

Thank you kindly.
Serene location, nice shower, and an entertaining menagerie of cats, roosters, chickens, and a duck. We cooked up some of Mustang's fresh eggs for breakfast, delicious! Convenient for riders on the Tunnel Hill State Trail

Mustang is an amazing host! The site was welcoming and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay and look forward to the next opportunity to stay here again. Keep up the great work Mustang!!! I strongly recommend anyone who would like a restful respite to stay here :)
