I stayed for two nights in early September and had a wonderful experience. The campsite and tent were just as described and very clean. The site was within trees and sagebrush and not an open field like so many other campsites. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting City of Rocks.

We liked the location and setting. We stayed in the "Tent" and it was roomy enough for our family of 6 to all sleep comfortably. Good amenities provided, porta-poties and garbage cans were conveniently located. They had water across the street at the Host's property, which was fine to use as needed, they were gracious to offer us access whenever we needed.

Super comfortable! Hosts were great with communication and met me with lots of helpful local info for visiting the park and town's fun. Also -- the nicest smelling compost toilet I've ever experienced in the camping scene! Weird to highlight but bravo!!!

Thanks for staying! We built the outhouse from my grandmother's green house that she built. It's made with all repurposed materials. Yes, properly maintained, an outhouse doesn't have to be an awfull experience.

Great retreat -- just what we needed on our road trip for a quiet, comfortable night sleep and a lovely setting for our kids to stretch their legs. Thanks Ross and Sherida!

This place is a MUST see. Ross & Sheila were incredibly accommodating and the glamming experiment was delightful. They provided chairs and even two cots and a solar light! It was dreamy and I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. The night hawks were amazing too!!

Amazing service, beautiful views even saw a great horned owl. At night we saw night Hawks!
The Bell tent was comfortable and a cool experience. Quiet at night, host sells firewood if you don't have any. Better than The Preserve campsites.

The Pinion Pine Bell Tent is a convenient stop for anyone visiting City of Rocks Natural Reserve. It was incredibly clean (looked new!) and had basic amenities: cots with comfortable toppers, table, chairs, trashcan, etc. The property is on a residential street outside of the reserve, so there are neighbors around. This didn't distract from our stay. The property is beautiful, and there was great birding. The hosts were friendly and available to answer any questions. The only downside was that our stay coincided with a very windy night; the tent supports were stable but the noise of the flapping walls made for a rough night's sleep.

The bell tent was a great place to land after driving all day. The host, Ross, was very friendly and gave us a list of all the amenities in the area. I’m glad I found this place - the location is amazing and has some great hiking and climbing. Will come back here for a longer stay soon.
