Description

The cabins at Elk Creek Guard Station are located in a magnificent mountain meadow. This remote area is interspersed with Douglas fir and lodgepole pine trees and has become somewhat of a haven for winter sports fanantics. There are over 30 miles of groomed trails near the cabins, but since deep snow can blanket the area in winter months, visitors should be prepared to snowmobile, snowshoe, or ski at least 15 miles to get there. Just think of it as your future “uphill, both ways” story. The cabins are equipped with the appliances and utensils you’ll need to cook a mean feed, but please plan on supplying your own water, lighting, and bedding. Firewood is available in the shed, but you may need to pull a Paul Bunyun and split it using an axe. You got this!
