Weather is getting too cold so the Glamp Shower is closed until Spring !. Very private and peaceful! The River Cabin (192 sf) overlooks the unspoiled Moyie River. Enjoy walking in the forest or sitting by the river to enjoy the beauty of North Idaho. The cabin is surrounded by the Selkirk and Cabinet Mountains and is private with no view of neighbors property and is situated in a 15.4 acre Certified Family Forest. If you hear the rumble of a train at night it's because the Union Pacific passes along the opposite edge of the property from the cabin. There is No Mobile Phone Service. There is WIFI at The River Cabin. We suggest you activate “Cell over WIFI “ on your mobile phone for safety (911 access). There is a variety of wildlife on and around the property. The log cabin has electricity, with seasonally appropriate fans/heaters. There is a small refrigerator with freezer compartment, 1.4 cf Microwave, a hot plate, a Keurig coffeemaker, pans and a toaster oven. It has a set of twin size bunk beds, sofa and a small loft that could be used as an additional small sleeping area. The luxury (just kidding) outhouse is nearby. The cabin does not have water, but a spigot at the host's cabin provides fresh well water; a short haul to the cabin. A Gorilla Polycart (13” tires) is on-site for moving larger water containers. A camp site sized area between the cabin and river overlook has a fire pit, covered shelter, featuring a USFS-style charcoal grill, benches and picnic table and a Bear Box for food and beverage storage ( April 1 until November 1 ). Firewood is provided but bring your own charcoal. Size wise it is ideal for a couple. There is also room for a small tent site near the fire pit area and a larger tent site across from the cabin for additional guests. There is a hammock and disc golf “hole”. OUR NIGHTLY FEE Includes all the firewood you need, various cabin supplies and 10% Hipcamp Service Fee. It does not include the 6% Idaho Sales Tax and 2% Idaho Travel and Convention Tax.Check out our website: campinidaho.com for more info , including a video about the area, and book the River Cabin on Hipcamp. If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
An absolutely magical place. Thank you so much Paul. You really went above and beyond with your beautiful and cozy cabin. I had everything I needed the entire time. Paul really put so much into making sure his guests are comfortable. Amazing property and thoughtful host. Will be back in the Spring. Hope to meet you then!
Absolutely beautiful location. We felt very privileged to bask in this view for a few serene days. The cabin was a nice touch on top of it. We normally camp and that takes a lot of work to prepare for. This was an upgrade with most things we needed already available, and the added warmth on a cold night. Will definitely be back.
Little gem in north idaho
This was a little gem! Paul is wonderfully accommodating. The cabin is equipped with everything you need. Just bring bedding, food, and friends/family ❤️ The property is absolutely gorgeous and Paul gave us some good advice on local activities. The waterfall hike was lovely. We will be back!!!
Our favorite place in north idaho
This was the fourth time we've stayed here! I think we've stayed here in every season. In winter the woodstove keeps it nice and warm and in the summer the cabin stays pretty cool being in the trees. This little cabin is very private and very well maintained. The location brings us back often to visit family, and having the opportunity to stay here while in the area is a bonus. If you're looking for a cozy, affordable, glamping experience, this is the place for you! Yes it has an outhouse, but my husband and I are used to dispersed camping, so the outhouse is a plus! The view of the river while cooking over and enjoying the fire is priceless.
We drove up past Copper Falls and Spruce Lake (as we do every time we come) this time we were lucky enough to see a black bear one day and a couple moose the next! We haven't had the chance to explore all the roads up there, but each time we come we try and see a little more.
We will definitely be back again! Thank you Paul!
We had an amazing time. Very private, plenty of hikes nearby, and Bonner’s Ferry is only 30min away and an awesome town! Beautiful. Paul also made sure we had everything we needed. Would stay again.
Enjoyable rustin fun cabin
This quaint, rustic, and Cozy little cabin is great to play by the river and enjoy the quiet time with nature. Nice covered patio area with an awesome fire pit to sit around and enjoy a get away from home. There are many places to site see around the area within 20 minutes. After 4 nights our kids are worn out from all the adventures.
A perfect place to get away! Iron Horse Cabin…What is an absolute wonderful little place. The drive to the cabin is beautiful, the grounds are gorgeous , the cabin had everything you possibly could need. I worked remotely for three days and explored after work. Did have a little trouble with the Wi-Fi in the cabin due to weather but just hung out on Paul’s deck and worked and enjoyed the beautiful view. Paul was phenomenal at his communication and was so prompt to answer every single question I had, and I had a lot. LOL. The newly added shower house is a solid bonus. I would definitely recommend and hope to be able to be back and just be able to enjoy the area when there isn’t as much smoke.
