NEW FOR 2022 : THE RIVER CABIN now has a small front deck ! and a screen on the loft window for improved Summer time ventilation. The River Cabin (192 sf) overlooks the unspoiled Moyie River. Enjoy walking in the forest or sitting by the river to enjoy the beauty of North Idaho. The cabin is surrounded by the Selkirk and Cabinet Mountains and is private with no view of neighbors property and is situated in a 15.4 acre Certified Family Forest. If you hear the rumble of a train at night it's because the Union Pacific passes along the opposite edge of the property from the cabin. There is No Mobile Phone Service. There is WIFI at The River Cabin. We suggest you activate “Cell over WIFI “ on your mobile phone for safety (911 access). There is a variety of wildlife on and around the property. The log cabin has electricity, with seasonally appropriate fans/heaters. There is a small refrigerator with freezer compartment, 1.4 cf Microwave, a hot plate, a Keurig coffeemaker, pans and a toaster oven. It has a set of twin size bunk beds, sofa and a small loft that could be used as an additional small sleeping area. The luxury (just kidding) outhouse is nearby. The cabin does not have water, but a spigot at the host's cabin provides fresh well water; a short haul to the cabin. A Gorilla Polycart (13” tires) is on-site for moving larger water containers. A camp site sized area between the cabin and river overlook has a fire pit, covered shelter, featuring a USFS-style charcoal grill, benches and picnic table and a Bear Box for food and beverage storage ( April 1 until November 1 ). Firewood is provided but bring your own charcoal. Size wise it is ideal for a couple. There is also room for a small tent site near the fire pit area and a larger tent site across from the cabin for additional guests. There is a hammock and disc golf “hole”. OUR NIGHTLY FEE Includes all the firewood you need, various cabin supplies and 10% Hipcamp Service Fee. It does not include the 6% Idaho Sales Tax and 2% Idaho Travel and Convention Tax.Check out our website: campinidaho.com for more info , including a video about the area, and book the River Cabin on Hipcamp. It is always such a magical place here. Very therapeutic time, the cabin is lovely, and the land gorgeous. Appreciate all of the amenities offered. It's like camping, without all the work.
Absolutely love this little piece of paradise!! This is my husband and I and our two doggies favorite camping place. We have been multiple times and have more trips booked this summer. The cabin is cute and cozy. Has a nice little wood stove and a space heater. Also has lots of kitchen appliances. We go camping in the spring, summer and fall. When it's warm we play outside and it never bothers us when it's rainy because the view is beautiful and relaxing. Paul is a very good host and he is always making improvements on his property including a very nice deck this year and a hot shower previously. Our favorite thing is he is very pet friendly. We love getting away with our dogs and they are always welcome to come. Such a great place!!

Thanks Sheila ! We appreciate your love of our special little cabin in the forest and look forward to your return this Summer !
Paul’s place was exactly what we were looking for. We brought our camping equipment but didn’t need to. The cabin is equipped with everything we needed except our sheets and blankets. The setting was outstanding and our pups loved the land. We headed into Canada a few times and went on some fabulous hikes. We will definitely return. I am.

Thanks for being our first Hipcampers this Spring! Stevie and Maisie also seemed to approve. Happy Trails To You ! …and do come back.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay during a very chilly New Years weekend. The wood stove kept the cabin plenty warm, especially in the top bunk and up in the loft. The area feels very private and quiet and watching the river was very peaceful. Our dog loved running around in the snow and sniffing the deer tracks that were running through the woods around the property.

Most HipDogs beg their people to bring them back in Summer ! 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the forest despite bitter cold. Happy New Year!
winter stay on the Moyie river, what a treat. 2 adults and a dog, perfect relaxing for a few days to finish off the year. snowshoeing, hiking, puzzles, cards, animal watching, we even found a shed while there. thanks Paul for your hospitality. we will be back

Glad you had plenty of snow and made the most of it. If you enjoyed your Winter visit, wait until you experience it in Spring/Summer/ Fall. Thanks for being a Hipcamper!
This is such a peaceful and private cabin. It was a little hike in the snow to get all the bedding and such to then cabin but once inside and warmed up it was just breath taking. We will definitely be back. Paul the host is very nice and accommodating. He even allowed us to park under his carport which was a HUGE help considering we got around 15 inches of new snow while we were there. It was just lovely. If you like to snow shoe, This is the place for you!!!

Thanks for honoring our little cabin with your first Hipcamp visit and over Christmas too! I am glad you got to snowshoe, my favorite Winter pastime, you realize there are a lot of critters surviving out there despite the peace and quiet. Thanks again!!
Everyrhing was great except for we got there late and there was no tinder to start the fire with just 2 inch logs ao we froze the first night. I made sure to cut a leave some for the next group

Dylan, Sorry you had a cold first night ! There is (should have been )a box of fire starters in the cabin .Also, some paper/cardboard . I'll also add a second space heater. Thanks for the feedback!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was such a quaint little respite by the river! Our kids enjoyed exploring the property and going down to the beautiful spot by the river. It was very small but has everything you could need! Definitely family friendly, and we are looking forward to coming back in the summer! Paul was an excellent host and communication was great! Thanks again!

Glad you enjoyed your visit! I go to “Instant Booking “ in the Spring so a little faster to book. Keep Exploring.
An absolutely magical place. Thank you so much Paul. You really went above and beyond with your beautiful and cozy cabin. I had everything I needed the entire time. Paul really put so much into making sure his guests are comfortable. Amazing property and thoughtful host. Will be back in the Spring. Hope to meet you then!

Thanks , glad you enjoyed our special little cabin in the forest!
