Sweet cabin in kula
The cabin is new and thoughtfully designed with off the grid amenities such as solar powered lights, on demand propane water heater for a nice hot shower. The portable style rest room is quite clean and comfortable. The the site is easy to drive to and only a few blocks away from the local coffee shop and diner.
Alika is very congenial and helpful, and had provided several thoughtful extras to make the rustic cabin comfortable. The double bed was very cozy and warm with all the extra blankets and comforters that come with it, they are needed as it can get rather cool at night around 3000 ft elevation. All in all it was a very pleasant surprise and well recommended for a camp like experience with the need for camping gear. Mahalo
Truly an amazing stay. The hosts were more than generous. They welcomed us with open arms, and offered much more than expected. It was if we were staying with family, a home away from home.
We would repeat!
Great place to relax and to get away from mass tourism in a farm with great views. Great point to go to the Haleakala summit, we stayed for sunset and then for the stars to show up and after an easy drive we were back to sleep. The owners were very kind and even offered us to pick fruit from their farm, the papayas were delicious! Mahalo!
This is a really nice place, we had good nights and good time. I think it could even be better depending just on a few things: a real toilet, a plug on which you can charge your camera battery or computer
Amazing cabin retreat in maui
This was the perfect place to start our trip in Maui! The location is great to have access to Haleakalā and the of upcountry Maui! The cabin has all the basics and an amazing sunset view. From a camping perspective, the private bathroom and running water with a hot shower was super helpful. Alika was a top-notch host who was very welcoming and gave us a quick tour of the cabin and a little background on himself! This place is definitely recommended if you want a great mountain retreat and a comfortable bed to sleep. The sunset view was a bonus! Stop by Grandma’s Coffee House for a great breakfast spot too!
It’s a nice cabin with full access to the essential utilities. I enjoyed cooking, doing barbecue, or simply just taking a sit looking at the beautiful view that this place offers. However, for me, it’s all about the people. Alika and his family is so much kind and generous. They even hosted a warm birthday dinner for me. I had a good time having good food, talking and hanging around with them. I definitely will come back to this place over and over again if I have the chance.
This place was awesome. You’re missing out if you don’t stay here - the location was perfect for our Haleakalā sunrise.
We loved the dramatic scenery- the mountain cabin was clean and comfortable and had everything you need. Alika was so kind and welcoming —
