No access to hana.
We did not end up staying the night. We got there during daylight to get to know the place and then went for lunch at Maui Wine. The server there let us know that the bridge was closed to get to Hana. This was our whole purpose of staying there. I believe this information could have been relayed.
Camping near haleakala sunrise
If you are looking for a pitstop to visit Haleakala sunrise, this campground, look no further.Book this campground! Its PERFECT! With running water in washroom, outdoor showers & beautiful sunset views, this campground exceeded our expectations! Very clean facility! Alika was very communicative & provided thorough directions to the site!
Would love to visit again :)
Alika's place was great. We used it as a stopover spot on the way to catch the Haleakala sunrise. It's about an hour from the park entrance and very convenient in that regard. And the place itself has everything you could need--hot shower, bathrooms with running water, picnic tables, and a fire pit. Thank you, Alika!
Fantastic campground! Alika was super welcoming. The site had great views, clean bathrooms/showers, a cool gazebo and grilling area, etc. The location was perfect for my excursions to the summit of the volcano and to the road to Hana.
The hosts are very helpful on directions and you are tucked back on the property. Be prepared for an outside bathroom. There is a door but more like a camp ground style that is connected to one of the cabins. We didn't want to disturb anyone in the cabin. We enjoyed our quick stay (arrived late and left early to enjoy the island).
