We had a campervan and it was a lovely little farm spot to park it. The makeshift shower set up and porta-potty were clean and nearby. The host was really nice and offered great tips about the area. We really enjoyed our stay!
Negative—Red Ants and really unsanitary. Theres a grill to cook on but it’s dirty with nothing to clean it with. No pans or pots to cook with so I’m glad we brought our own. There’s a picnic table to sit at but there’s red ants ALL over it, beer bottles under your feet, random personal stuff like mail clippers, bike chain, dirty forks, that we moved over to make room for our stuff. There’s a porta potty so no actual toilet. Not sure when that’s been cleaned? There’s a shower but it’s a mess and wear slippers because there’s broken tiles everywhere and a cat who hangs out / may piss in there. Also, the owner—he sat down with us at the picnic table to talk story but he talked over us, talked freely about hooking up with multiple women because “you can’t just be with one, you know what I mean?!” while addressing my boyfriend. He also spit in front of me multiple times while sitting with us.
Positive—he offered us coffee.
Just don’t
What a way to start my Big Island trip! Amazing location, and even though you are off the highway it feels remote. Rufus was incredible and seeing the chickens, sheep, and other birds in the morning made it perfect. Thank you!
Khalil is a wonderful human being. His place is lovely, his hospitality amazing, the animals delightful, and his produce and coffee delicious. Cannot recommend highly enough. Make sure you buy some cold brew!
Kind people on a beautiful farm/forest property. He let us camp in his coffee tree grove. There's shared fridge space, whatever cooking utensils you need, just ask, and cooking is on a propane barbecue. Very close to Pahoa and centrally to many beaches. I really appreciated this stay!
This place was gorgeous and perfect! Rufus was a wonderful host and made sure we had everything we needed and that the land was well kept. Beautiful property with sheep and chickens and a very sweet cat. It was easy to find and a great place to stay with our two little kids.
